Savage is a cruel name for a child regardless if it is for a male or female. People have to understand children have their names for the rest of their lives.

actually my husbands names is Savage and it grows on a person.. you dont think of it as a SAVAGE but a name that is interesting

When I first saw that name in your question my first thought was a caveman. Like a savage hunter.

I think it is awful!
Per Webster's Dictionary
a savage is fierce, untamed, cruel, pitiless, brutal or crude person.
How awful for the child!

well i think it's okay as long as it's not a last name like say Michael Savage. Also , if your last name is Lover how could you go wrong??
