I say that the USA should build a wall the whole length of the USA and Mexcian boarder. (just as Germany had and North and South korea have). USA should shoot to kill anyone trying to cross it.....Whats your thoughts........(also dont forget that Mexico guards their boarders on the other end with the other countries very strongly but wants the USA to let Mexcians just walk into the USA).

The shot to kill wont be for long when they know what happens when you get cought being stupid and try to cross. It works for Korea and worked for Germany.....so why not here.

Well, well, someone who agrees with the Israeli strategy...way to go buddy!

EDIT:

After reading all the answers I have to say that this is a drastic solution. However I am also quite appalled at the way America defends its borders. By being politically correct all the time America weakens it position (ask any terrorist). Now I'm not calling the Mexicans fleeing their country, terrorists, They are not - they are just very deperate people to whom the USA is a last resort. So, maybe comparing them to terrorists climbing over the Wall to kill Israelis's is too harsh. While certain principles are similar, the punishment is too harsh.

However that has to be balanced with America's right to protect her territory from unwanted guests. Unforthunately the current situation is not working. Clearly what is needed is something in between "the current solution" and "shooting to kill". What might that be? Taser fire? Stun Guns? I'm not sure. But shooting to kill a desperate person is probably not quite right. Although I would not like to be the guinea pig, killing one or two would make a difference. I hope a suitable solution can be found to this. Great question though!

I think that if we spent the money that it cost to build a wall and have an adequate amount of personal to police it ,on improving the conditions in their country and if we would pay a reasonable price to purchase their products we would be a lot better off. Why is it we have to have a pearl harbor or a 9/11 and then go over and Shock and awe them before we will send relief or assistance. Treat them the way we want to be treated and maybe they won't want to kill us. Share our knowledge with them and they can better them selves and their country and then they won't have to come here to have a decent life and education, and health care. We are all fortunate to be born in America but we need to remember that unless we are American Indians then we were immigrants or aliens to this country ourselves.

I'm not in favor of killing border crossers unless they are armed and threatening the safety of U.S. citizens or others.

I do think we should secure our borders, both north and south. (The Canadian border is longer than the Mexican border.) We should also do a much better job of watching our coasts and seaports.

We know not all illegal aliens come from Mexico and not all are coming across the southern border.

I would favor imprisonment for repeat offenders, but would not as a matter of course kill those crossing the border. We are still a good and generous country and I would not want to change that.

You say we should shoot to kill, huh? As a complete aside from what an horrific, awful idea this is anyway, a not-insignificant portion of those crossing the border are women and children. So your idea is that we model our immigration policy after Communist East Germany and North Korea, and shoot all those coming across, who are mostly, it must be assumed, unarmed civilians. You're saying we should kill people because they don't have papers. Are you serious?

No, no, no, no, no. Am I allowed to tell you that you're an idiot? You're an idiot. The immigration problem will not be solved with a wall and snipers. The immigration problem will be solved by (listen carefully) COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION POLICY REFORM.

People will always find a way in, ok? Besides, your "plan" (if we can call it that) is just one step away from lining up everyone with darker skin than you and putting a slug in them.

You're stupid. Please, think before you speak.

/no wonder people hate America, it's because of people like YOU

A fence is part of the solution. It actually has helped reduce illegal entry. There are other things we should do to make coming here not so sweet. Anyone hiring illegals will be fined. Anyone providing housing to them will be fined. They will not be able to get free medical or welfare any more. Their incentive will be gone. They will have no reason to come here. Those here will have no reason to stay.

I think our Border Patrol should have the right to shoot anyone who is evading them and do not stop when told to do so, without fear of prosecution. That is why they are there. They should be allowed to do their job.

It wont be the best thing to do. No wall has kept out anyone. Niether the Great wall of China nor the Berlin wall. Its better to have dialouge with them and persue them to stop inflirtation. If that does not work force cam always be used with no blame to carry.

thats pretty drastic...the best way to stop illegal immigration is to stop it from being so attractive to those folks that come over...if we enforce the laws we have now, the problem would be a lot less severe.

Send them back. Then go after the people that hire them.First time a business is caught,$20,000 fine per illegal. Second time, lose your business license forever. If we de-magnetize this country, they will go somewhere else.
