Was This A SIgn From God?

A year or so ago I was going through rehab. I was going through a really hard time and I was in the middle of the desert with a group of other people who were going through the same thing as I was. We were in group, talking about our faith in God or a "Higher Power.." I said that I wasn't sure if there was a God or if He could hear my pleas or if He even cared or loved me at all.

I have never been the one to go to chuch because I was never taught about God. I've always been curious though. Anyways, we were all talking, and after I said "I'm not sure what I believe in because I feel that the God of my understanding doesn't hear me or care about me, he never answers me or shows me a sign - - he hates me."

After that I saw this ball of light come from the skies. It was like this giant ball of light that was MANY miles away. It came from between this gap in the clouds and went across the horizon for a few seconds and then I didn't see it anymore.

Was it a sign from him, letting me know that he does hear my prayers and that he cares about me?

Was it him trying to reassure me?

I was the ONLY PERSON who saw this. Everyone else in my group said they believed in God - I was the one who was unsure.

I believe in God - I know something had to create us. What makes me sad is, I don't feel like God hears my prayers, or that he doesn't give a sh*t about me.

What can I do?
Someone who's a Christian, or some similar religion - - or whatever - - please help me.

I know the difference between a shooting star and a ball of light that was at least the size of a tennis ball. Shooting stars have tails - - this one was more like an "orb" of light.

I've been in a bad place lately - I need to know what to do.. I feel like I'm all alone, and I want to know if this was "God" trying to let me know that he's there for me - - that he's listening..

I'm at the point where I don't know what to do anymore because I feel like I've taken my life for granted because of my past choices.. I don't want God to hate me for it.. :'(

IT WAS AT NIGHT TIME!!! I COULD SEE THE STARS - - THIS WAS 3 TIMES BIGGER THAN THE STARS.

God is always with you . It is very possible that he was showing you that he heard your cry and believe me he heard it. he won't leave you nor forsake you . Believe in him with every piece and part of you and he will not let you down. This is the only thing I am certain of.

Dear Sister
I pray for you. there are a couple of things you should know about God which I hope will strengthen your faith. While I can't say that what you saw was or was not a sign from God, Consider what happened to the prophet Elijah. 1Kings 19:11-13
The Lord said" Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountain apart and shattered rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face...
We can be just like Elijah. Even though God had just shown his great power, Elijah doubted. He was looking for God in big obvious things and ignoring the way God was already showing himself. Sometimes we need to look for him in the small quiet moments. In the 1st chapter of Daniel verse 9 we are told that God caused one of the guards to show favor and sympathy to Daniel. He was still a captive, but God watched over him.
So, although I don't know what your situation is, I can tell you that God loves you and is watching over you. That does not mean that you will never suffer hardship. It just means that if you cling to God always, you will come through just fine. You will be able to look back and see how your faith was strengthened. E-mail if I can help.
May God hold you and comfort you. And may you see the blessings that he provides for you.

May God Bless u! God said He would never leave us nor 4sake us. the Bible also says " Ask and ye shall receive ask not and receive not." God gives us the power of choice. He knows ur needs He's jus waiting 4 u 2 come 2 him w/ all ur heart and b true a/b it.I know people say there isn't a God but how can u look at a sunset or the ocean or the stars and say there is no God.We r the only thing that is made in God's image. If we give God permission 2 change us He will but it takes u 2 say God please come in my heart and give me the wisdom and the knowledge of understanding.I also know that people say that if they can't c it they don't beleive in it. Well ask ur self how ur alive of course ud say b/c u breath air well u can't c the air but u believe it's there. well the same principle goes 4 God. Jus b/c u can't c Him doesn't mean He doesn't exist.God hates nobody . He loves every1 no matter wat u've done or who ur. Faith is a big factor also. I hope I have helped some how. I will pray 4 u to have understanding and faith. please feel free 2 email me @ wwgd04@yahoo.com

Ever hear of a guy named Bill W.? Well, in his story he tells in a book colored blue, second chapter, describes, not in so much detail, a very similar experience. There is another book that is mentioned in that book colored blue called "Varieties Of Religious Experiences" by a guy named William James. He also describes, in much greater detail, the same. As far as your thinking that God hates you, let me just say that if you found yourself in a rehab (people usually don't go to those places by mistake) then something or somebody loves you enough to try to save you from eventual early death. I don't believe God hates anybody. We have the freedom to make good or bad choices. Some people never had anybody show them how to make good choices. That's what the rehabs do. And sponsors. Got one?

God doesnt hate you. You just have to put your trust in him. Its not Gods plan to answer and solve all your problems for you, have you ever heard the saying no pain no gain. People always ask things like this, your not alone. Why does God allow me to feel pain, why does it seem like God likes me hurting? Look at it like this. When you were a kid did your parents ever ground which kept you from going to a sleep over, or a party. At the time it probably seemed like they were being unfair and you probably were really hurt, but now looking back on situations like that you realize that your parents did things like that because they loved you and wanted the best thing for you. Its the same thing with God. God doesnt solve all your problems or shelter you from all your pain because he loves you and he knows that the person you will be when you come out the other side of whatever darkness you are in will be much better for having dealt with the pain.

Peace hes God, hes knows what hes doing

My Dear Soul...

God loves you, He hears your prayers. I don't know what you saw that night...I don't know if that is how God spoke to you...only you know in your heart.

God doesn't hate you. He never has...Matter of a fact, He loves you so much; that He sent His only Son to save us from our sins.

Where there were 100 steps between you and God, He took 99 of them to get closer to you. It is up to you to take the last step, to get closer to Him.

((I'm sure you know this...prayer is not an empty check waiting to be written...Prayer is to draw us nearer to God's heart and God's will.)) Personally, I believe there are three answers to prayers:
1) Yes and you may have it now!
2) No (It will hurt you, someone else etc.) This is the hardest one to hear...and
3) Wait for my perfect timing...((God sees the big picture, we only see the part of it we are in...))

I would recommend that you begin reading the New Testament of the Holy Bible ((get one that is easy to read and understand. I prefer a modern translation. I enjoy the New Living Translation (NLT) and the New Century Version (NCV)). I would start in John and then read Acts. Romans then Matthew, Mark and Luke...finish up the New Testament...but I'd skip Revelation for now. There is a lot of symbolism in it that is explained in the Old Testament.

Finding a Church with what fits your worship style (traditional, contemporary / modern or kicked up a notch with a more rock and roll atmosphere) would be good too.

Most important about the Church...make sure it is Spirit filled. One that urges a relationship with Jesus Christ and teaches from the Holy Bible.

You are loved more than you can ever...or even imagine...

In His Service...

There is no doubt that God exists. Believers in Science might attempt to refute this. However, science is simply a man-made system that reflects the arrogant assumption that it is possible for man to know and understand everything. If you truly look into your own heart and ask yourself with humility, you will realize that this is false. Please understand that I am not saying science is worthless, it has given mankind a lot, but it is not the answer to everything as its most vehement proponents claim.

You have taken the first step on to the path of true understanding by opening yourself to affirmation of the existence of God. If He did not exist then where did everything come from? If He did not exist then why has every nation and race ever to have lived on this planet conceived of the idea of Him? It takes humility to acknowledge that everything is not in your own hands, that there exists a power greater than your own.

And yes, He shows His signs to all, but most people fail to recognize them. It is those that recognize His signs, and reflect upon them that attain humility, and from that comes wisdom. He created us only to worship Him, but how much time do we really spend doing that?

I am truly sorry that you suffer. But know that whatever suffering a person undergoes is due solely to their own actions. I can personally vouch for this; at one time I led a sinful life, spent all my time in the pursuit of pleasure and gave nothing back to anybody. I had everything that I wanted but nothing gave me any happiness or peace. God guided me and I repented from these things and turned to Him. I wish I could somehow make you experience the peace and contentment I felt and how different it was from my previous state of mind. Believe me when I tell you that it is possible to have nothing else and be happy, as long as you have Him.

Ask Him for his Guidance and His help and He will not withold it. I pray that He guides you to the right path and grants you what you are looking for.

God definately hears your prayers if you are trying to live in harmony with what you are praying for. Only God knows for sure if what you saw was from him. I can tell you for a certainty that anyone who is trying to follow God's will according to the truth of the Bible is having problems right now because Satan is the god of this world at the present time. He has most everyone eating out of his hand--believing and acting on all the lies he has promoted since the first one in the garden of Eden. Keep praying. Keep seeking. God wants you to find him and follow.

Start with beliving that you have a soul that is a facet of the Creator that was made from its own body . In between the time that it Created its selfe out of the chaos that was before then and that GOD gave it order. then GOD threw off sparks of its own body which became the souls of ALL that was and WILL be.
If this is true then we are all facets of the Creator that have been given tasks to do. either here or in heaven. mostly both.
the next step is to get in better touch with this facet and start a conversation with it.you will learn much if you pay attention.
what you saw may have been a breif sign or signal that you have been heard . the next steps are up to you as you have knocked on the door.

I see signs of God's love every day. Just take a few minutes to just step back, breathe deep and just quietly talk to God. He'll talk back if you just listen.

The fact that you saw this at a time when you were questioning the existence of God is surely a sign.

You believe it was a sign, why not just believe and continue to seek His grace and wisdom.

Also, don't worry about the folks bashing you. You'll be a happier and more productive member of society if you just keep your faith and ignore their jeers.
