Yes, any injury that opens the skin is a portal for infection....how bad was it? how deep? how well did you clean it? did u put an antibacterial ointment on it? this is not necessarily something that would require a trip to the doctor, HOWEVER....if you notice increased swelling, redness, tenderness, odd smelling or looking drainage(i.e. pus) then go to the doctor ASAP!! make sure that you keep the wound clean and dry, wash it twice a day with antibacterial soap and keep antibacterial ointment on it (dial soap, neosporin, bactine spray).....hope you feel better, and next time leave the rubber bands on the claws until just before you cook the lobsters...but i guess you already know that now lol.....

Any bite can get infected. I looked on the net and could not find where there was any special kinds of infection from lobsters to worry about, so cleaning it with soap and water, putting a bit of alcohol or peroxide on it should do the trick.

You mean from a cooked lobster??...you shouldn't it should be sterile because of the heat of cooking...even if the lobster were raw..the fact that you were bleeding means a lot of the germs were probably being washed out of the wound.

Depends, if it was live or raw, then pretty good chance.
If it had already been cooked properly, then that should have killed the bacteria.

Also depends if it was a small puncture or almost ripped your arm off.

Pay attention to the site for a few days. Keep it clean and use Neo-Sporin or antiseptics on it. If you notice swelling, redness, soreness, etc, then seek medical attention.

You could if the conditions are right. If this has just occured use alcohol to clean the wound, apply neosporin and a bandaid and keep it clean.
