rule of thumb: do not use human medications for your pets unless specified by your vet.

take your kitty for a check-up... sounds like he's got a cold

Never give any human cold medicine to a cat,especially if it contains acetaminophen(Tylenol).Tylenol is deadly to cats.Your cat probably has a viral or bacterial infection and should see a vet ASAP.

If your cat has an upper respriatory infection then your cat may need antibiotics which need to be given by a VET. I would take the cat to the vet.
What humans take can kill an animal.

I'd call your vet and ask which medicine to give him then when you get the brand name buy a maybe 3-inch turkey baster that you could get the medicine in and put it in your cat's mouth and squirt it all out
