how long can i keep my american car in mexico if i'm working for an american company down their, if i buy a home what are some of the problems faced and what would i need, to do that , i am looking for work their and just need alot of other info to keep the problems down, for the long haul, i have my own information but value other views and ideas, thanks so much.

Good luck dude Mexican laws are really tough on people who are not Mexican. Be prepared to go through tons of bullshit paperwork plus not to mention the bribes you will have to pay to get it processed.

As far as i know, you have to take your car back at least once a year back to the states, and there is no problem to work for an American company in Mexico, the problem is when you want to work for a Mexican company you need to get an FM3, is a work passport and is something simple and cost about 100 bucks, to buy a house you need the FM3 as a mexican ID. i hope that helps.

The company you work for should help you with paperwork that you need. Also I don't think that American Citizens can own property in Mexico you would only be able to rent.
