how much trainning does it take to run a marathon...i run on a regular basis, but yea...any suggestions?

im running a 5 K marathon on friday and i am totally NOT ready, but i guess ill walk if i get tired or something

It takes a long time to prepare. I have workout plans...plan a minimum
of 4 months (16-17 weeks) training for a marathon if you plan to finish.
You have to build up with a combination of speed and endurance
training, and the ability to run at different speeds during the course
of a match. You should spend at least six months to 1 year before
that running on a regular basis. I would also incorporate resistance
training, because it will probably help you with recovery. I have listed
some useful links to help you if you are serious in pursuing this goal.

It takes a LOT of training. My suggjestion is to make a weekly schedle of what you are going to do.
