BEYOND LIFE'S GATEWAY
There's an open gate
At the end of the road
Through which each must go alone,
And there in a light we cannot see
Our Father claims His own;
Beyond the gate your loved one
Finds happiness and rest
And there is comfort
In the thought
That a loving God knows best.

There's a poem that begins " Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there, I do not sleep..." It's a wonderful poem for this situation- just do a yahoo search with the first line in quotes and you should get numerous sites. There is some debate over the author, but the poem is beautiful.

Substite as needed....
Here goes:
In tears we saw you sinking
And watched you pass away
Our hearts were almost broken
We wanted you to stay
But when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful, free from pain
How could we wish you back with us
To suffer that again
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God took you home
If roses grow in Heaven
Lord, please pick a bunch for me
Place them in my mother's arms
And tell her they're from me
Tell her I love her and miss her
And when she turns to smile
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile
Because remembering her is easy
I do it everyday
But there's an ache within my heart
That will never go away
Don't think of her as gone away
Her journey has just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one
Just think of her as resting
From teh sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know today
Now, nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she loved
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she was loved so very much
Here's another one....
Miss me but let me go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free
Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your heads bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me but let me go
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go it alone
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step in the road to home
And when you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends that we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me but let me go
I knew such love and so I was blessed
And love I gave in return
Such joy I knew, but so much pain
I'm flying free, no need to mourn
As did I in life, I love you still
And your love for me I know
But I grew so tired, I had to leave
So miss me, love me, let me go

There's a poem that starts off, If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you back again. I don't know the rest of it, but if you look it up on the Internet, or even call a statuary, they could tell you. they put that poem on stepping stones for gardens and such. beautiful poem.

here's one for you I made up. When you feel the sun I am with you when you see a bird fly I am with you. I am with you when you are down and don't know what to do; when you feel the tingle that goes up your arm I am with you. The breeze in the air I am with you. when you have no money and you look down and see 10 dollars I AM WITH YOU.
