Was This A SIgn From God?

Question

A year or so ago I was going through rehab. I was going through a really hard time and I was in the middle of the desert with a group of other people who were going through the same thing as I was. We were in group, talking about our faith in God or a "Higher Power.." I said that I wasn't sure if there was a God or if He could hear my pleas or if He even cared or loved me at all.

I have never been the one to go to chuch because I was never taught about God. I've always been curious though. Anyways, we were all talking, and after I said "I'm not sure what I believe in because I feel that the God of my understanding doesn't hear me or care about me, he never answers me or shows me a sign - - he hates me."

After that I saw this ball of light come from the skies. It was like this giant ball of light that was MANY miles away. It came from between this gap in the clouds and went across the horizon for a few seconds and then I didn't see it anymore.. Was this a sign from my God?

Was it a sign from him, letting me know that he does hear my prayers and that he cares about me?

Was it him trying to reassure me?

I was the ONLY PERSON who saw this. Everyone else in my group said they believed in God - I was the one who was unsure.

I believe in God - I know something had to create us. What makes me sad is, I don't feel like God hears my prayers, or that he doesn't give a sh*t about me.

What can I do?
Someone who's a Christian, or some similar religion - - or whatever - - please help me.

I know the difference between a shooting star and a ball of light that was at least the size of a tennis ball. Shooting stars have tails - - this one was more like an "orb" of light.

I've been in a bad place lately - I need to know what to do.. I feel like I'm all alone, and I want to know if this was "God" trying to let me know that he's there for me - - that he's listening..

I'm at the point where I don't know what to do anymore because I feel like I've taken my life for granted because of my past choices.. I don't want God to hate me for it.. :'(

God loves you very much. God does not want us to seek signs but I believe he allowed you to see that light because you needed it so very much. He wants us to read his word and he will speak to you thru it. His word is his promise and he does not lie. If you know what it says it will be easier for you to hold on when times are as hard as they are now. If one door closes, do not panic because he will open another. It is really hard to hold on sometimes but God will make a way for you if you just believe and do not lose patience. He is not an instant God but moves according to his perfect timing. I pray that God will make himself very real to you and send his angels to comfort you as you go thru your current struggles. God Bless You.

Possibly. Were you praying or asking for something? God rarely uses a sign that has no significance to you. I see you are searching and actually hungry for an answer from him. You want to know and be able to commit to him, but your not sure if he is there or not. If I were you I would begin to search for him more. I think he wants to speak to you about something very important in your life. He wants to speak through you I believe so that your whole family, not just you, will believe. Keep searching, you are getting close and the "ball of light" has meaning. Possibly that you are that light! Jeus is Lord!

Father I pray that this woman's prayer be answered. I pray that you give to her a sign so that she might be used as an instrument of your work and word. I see your Spirit wanting to shine through this woman. I pray that she open her heart and recieve you so that she may become that vessel of light to the world!

It was from God. Your problem is you want God to live for you when you should live for God. God loves you very much. So much so he picked you out of all the potential ovaries a woman has ( millions you know)---the one that made you because he knew you and there was something about you he loved. He knows your struggling but, he has said "Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all else will be given to you", Look at a crucifix---that's how much he loves you. If you were the only person in the world he would have still done that for you.

If you think it was God, then it probably was. God controls the weather, shooting stars and all, so he could have very well sent one just for you! God will never hate you for your past when you repent and try to do your best not to repeat sins. I am a born again Christian and have done some pretty bad things and made some pretty horrible choices. Ever since I turned my life to Christ, my life has changed for the better and He has transformed me into a new woman. Please have faith.

I think it was a sign. Whether it was an asteroid or a tennis ball or whatever doesn't matter. YOU saw it when you needed to see it. I can sit here and tell you God doesn't hate you until I'm blue in the face, but it might not mean much to you. But you saw something special and spectacular right when you needed to see it, and it was meant for you.

If you think that the God of your understanding doesn't hear you, then your understanding of God needs tuning--and I don't mean that in a critical way, or to be blameful or anything. I just mean that God exists beyond our understanding, and it's up to us to find a way to listen to him.

It was a freakin meteorite. Most I've seen were small quick streaks, but I have seen one rather large one. It did catch me off guard for a sec and I wasn't sure at first what it was, but then I figured out it was a meteorite, and an impressive one. The streak of a 'tail' was not as noticeable on it because of it's size.

And if you disagree with that explanation... Even if you think your god sent it, what the heck do you think it was that he sent?

signs from God can take any form...even shooting stars! He does show us signs of which way to go! I have experienced many of them throughout my life...I like to call them spiritual 2x4's up-side my head. Look around you...you have the signs you need right in front of you if you are sensitive enough to see them. God bless you and I will be praying for you!

Consider it a reminder. When you look outward, rather than inward, you see them everywhere. He can never hate you. He may be disappointed in your choices and bad habits (rehab is a good choice). But, God can never stop loving you, and he is very patient. The rest is really up to you.
