It is rude to "head off gifts at the pass" like that. You simply have to accept what people prefer to give as gifts.
If people ASK you what type of gifts you may like, you can tell them, but you can't outright volunteer the information-- it presumtuous.
If you receive gifts you don't care for, donate them to charity. I get lots of lotion too-- all women get that as a gift-- women's shelters always need that sort of thing so you can donate it.

Tell them honestly you'd prefer to buy that sort of thing yourself and ask if they'd like a list of other gifts you'd like to get.
Alot of people buy that stuff quickly because it's a fast gift and they don't have to think about it and ' everyone likes getting this stuff'. They usually buy it at a drug store on the way to your house. LOL
Be honest, be tactful and just hand them a ready made list ahead of time, be sure you're specific but not greedy .

I know exactly what you mean! I have gotten so much of that stuff! I finally had to throw so much of it away when I put my house on the market, I just didn't have the space for it. Had to throw away tons of half used bottles.
What I would do is this... When you see some of those people make a comment on how much of that you have and how you have a lifetime supply of it! They will remember that you already have too much of it and think of other things.
Another idea is if your family/friends ask you what you want, either make them a list of items you want, or tell them for sure you have enough bath and lotions.

You can tell your family and close friends that you have a lot of the stuff. But I suspect you get it because it is relatively inexpensive, you can get a nice bottle of lotion for under $10, and they know you are girly-girl, and will like it.
Just be nice, and sincere, say you do not want them to waste any money on stuff you have a lot of. And wait for the question, what do you want. Then tell them.

The next time someone gives you lotion or something like that, in a loud, irritated voice say "What the phuck? Lotion? Again? As if I'm ever going to use up the other 387 bottles you gave me. Jeez."
That should make your point abundantly clear.

Simply tell them you have enough lotions to last a life time and then tell them the truth as to what you prefer, thank them for their thoughtfulness in regard to the gifts whatever they might be...

Tell them you've developed some sensitivity to fragrances, so perhaps they could consider gift certificates instead, if they're thinking of buying you a gift.

Drop hints nicely when appropriate. If they still give you the lotions and makeup just be gracious - after all they are gifts.

Prior to your birthday, pass out a wish list. Make sure to exclude the lotion.

Then make a list and give a copy to everyone that buys you a present.
