good luck!! my daughter did the same thing... i just had to say enough is enough.. i would go in there hold her for a few minutes then WALK OUT & BE STRONG... i would sit outside the door and after about 20 minutes she would go back to sleep... also try giving him a friend to cuddle... my daughter has tons of stuffed toys and when its time for bed(she is 3 now) i tell her to pick a friend and then she will hold and cuddle with the friend cause he needs her.. very cute...
but most important rule though BE STRONG!! :-)
good luck

cold turkey, with the help of some white noise and a nightlight if he doesn't have one. He got used to the middleof the night attention and now you've got to break him of it. Tell him firmly at bedtime that you will see him in the momrning. If he wakes up screaming I might go in one time and let him know he's not alone in the house, that I am in the next room, see you in the morning, and then leave and don't go back. You might also try putting some toys and books in teh crib after he goes to sleep at night; maybe they would distract him if he wakes in teh night and he would play till he falls back to sleep.

As long as he's not sick anymore... let him cry it out. It's just like going through the routine when they were infants. It'll last a few nights, but if you hang in there... they'll eventually get the idea that crying isn't going to work... and they might as well just go back to sleep. My son did the same thing both times he got sick. It was a few days of hell to get him back to routine, but it worked.

I would check to make sure he isn't crying for good reason. Remind him he is ok and your there if he needs you then leave the room and let him cry himself to sleep if need be. I have a 2 yr old and a 6 month old and everyone is amazed how easy bedtime is in my house. They don't fuss or need a bottle. My two year old sometimes gets thrown off when he is sick too. I just stay consistant.

he will grow out of it you just have to reassure him that he is loved and that he is safe. he must have had some bad dreams when he was sick and needs nurturing my baby wouldn't go to sleep unless she was on daddies chest for the longest time my wife broke me of that i kinda liked it myself and miss it still :( But any ways just keep him on his normal sleep time and you gotta put in the hours I know its hard but some thing else will overcome his fears you a toy or even just the knowledge you are there and you will be able to sleep again lol good luck and be blessed .

Let him take naps in his crib during the day... and before you go to sleep read him a story or play with him in his room before he goes to sleep. Allow him to get reaquainted with the safety of his room.
glad he's feeling better

your son is going though a stage of needing comfort and security. he needs to feel safe while he is sick.
the bed thing could be because he is feeling he needs to be a big boy.my son started sleeping in a toddler bed at the age of one, then in a twin size bed at 2 1/2.he really loves the big boy idea.

My son did the same thing last week, he's getting his 2 yr molars and its keeping him up and we moved him to his big boy bed 2weeks ago. He was getting up and coming into our room crying every night around the same time. We tried Supernanny's approach (walk them back to bed without talking or eyecontact and put them back in bed) It actually worked, it was hard to be so cold but we stuck with it and it payed off for us, we have our room back!!!
