I know it refers to an older woman who dates younger men, but how did the term originate?

Supposedly, a long time ago, people would call the older women at the bar who were trying to pick up on younger men as "cougars."

the canadians coined it thats all i know . i dated cougars and they F8cking Rock dude. They are as agressive as any "B@TCH" in bed but very nice easy going very pleasant to talk to . They compromise on things as well .There is no bullsh@t with them . In many ways a cougar is the perfect woman .
