NO Cop, Corrections Officer, or Firefighter will ever make enough to pay them for the amount of time each day that their life is on the line. People think our job is so easy. Why don't you ride around in a squad car and have to approach a violator not knowing what they may have in their hands. Why don't you get in a room with 300 offenders who are in for various crimes (Prostitution to murder) and tell me how much you are worth? Why don't you help a Fireman put out a fire in 150 degree heat with the roof caving in and tell me how much you are worth.

Cops don't get paid Enough to put their life on the line everday like they do. They should get Hazardous duty pay like the military, and in really bad neigborhoods, they should get combat zone pay.
I was an MP in the Army, the only reason I didn't become a cop when I got out was the pay, its ridiculous.

The answer is the reverse.
When coips get paid little, they almost have to take bribes to support their family - Iraq, Russia, Mexico.
When cops are paid well with benefits for them and their family, they are more reluctant to accept bribes as they may lose their job, benefits and retirement - Cal HWY Patrol, English cops.
