I posted a question yesterday about this but I only got one answer so I'm going to repost it in a shorter story.. My one year old chihuahua and my 6mo old male chihuahua were found "tied up" yesterday. I have talked to my veterinarian about their age and I know they are too young, but this was NOT on purpose.. What I want to know is what the chances are she's pregnant (she is in heat) and any advice I can get.. I have researched breeding for future reference, but now I may be forced to learn a lot quicker than I had planned.. any advice please.

My opinion is that , yes, she is pregnant. Keep an eye on her to see if her nipples become enlarged. The gestation period for a dog is 62 days. Your vet can do an xray to see how the pups are doing around 45-50 days. I hope this helps.

The male is old enough to sire a litter. Chances are very ood that she is pregnant. Here is a good site to learn about Chihuahuas and the whole pregnancy bit with them from start to finish.

You could seperate them and hope that she did not take the one time, but chances are good that it did take. Good luck.

I have a male chihuahua named Paco. He is fixed but would love a girlfriend. So when the puppies come let me know.
I also have a male and female Yorkies. When she is in heat we go to every length to seperate them. They have never hooked up, but she always has a false pregnancy after her heat.

chances are she is pregnant, She might have a false pregnancy also, so enlargment of nipples doesn't mean she is pregnant, I had a chi who was bred a 1 1/2yrs old and she had a false pregnancy, enlargement of nipples, change in attitude and so on, but she never did gain any weight, So in order to know for sure take her to the vet at 26-30 days they can palpate her altho this doesn't always work, you can play the waiting game, and watch for weight gain, her is a web sight that might help you out.

Chances are excellent that she's pregnant. Take her to the vet for a check-up in about 7 weeks and get info then about looking after her when she's whelping, as well as how to look after the puppies.

The possibility is there, for her being pregnate...... Nature has its own way of making things happen.

Its best to just get them spayed and neutered. That way you will not have to worry about this any more.

If she was ready, you'll most likely be a mom....
Go to this site & place date you saw them tied up.
