What a wise question.
Large churches, and the last I heard the largest was 240,000 in Korea, are built around the charisma of the leader and great marketing. They are indeed becoming their own denominations - Calvary Chapel is an excellent example with churches in many states.
My concern here is the lack of connection to the historical church through the creeds of the church. When we worship around 1 man, no matter how pious, - and we do - , the opportunity for shadowy theology becomes a significant danger.

My church does not have a central leader other than Christ. The preacher is not in charge. Nor do we answer to a "home office" or any other governing body. We follow the biblical example and have elders. While I have seen others that reflect the potential problems that s98310 refers to, it should be noted that not all churches are like that.

I think it's a great idea that we don't follow a denomination. True Christians are trying to stay away from religiosity and rituals we want to worship Him in Spirit and in truth

Yes, I can see very clearly what you are talking about. We as charismatics are so worried about being "religious" that we are becoming the very thing which we want to avoid. It is sad that we continue to make the same errors over and over. Perhaps we need to always pray for wisdom and guidance.
Hopefully Jesus will come soon, and we can go to "big church"! (as my little ones used to call , the main sanctuary).

they'd not discriminate considering the fact which you think of you're gay or besides the fact that, yet they'd discriminate via fact of your perspectives approximately your gayness and whatnot. i in my view don't comprehend why you desire to be Catholic, once you for sure are not interested in submitting your self to the coaching authority of the Church or an entire conversion. there are a number of of different church homes accessible which will accommodate your non-Catholic opinion and unconverted heart. The Catholic faith isn't a buffet, that could be a dinner social gathering. In different words, you're served what they provide you, you don't get to %. and choose. The Catholic faith isn't a affordable buffet.

Well, the non-demoninational church I belong to doesn't have a larger group in charge of it.
However, I do see what you mean a little, and we should be careful about it.
