Well...it's because in MOST situations it's the guys that are trying to GET IT and it's the girls that have to GIVE IT. Most guys want it, but not all girls give it up. If the girl gives it up quite a bit...well....you know how SOCIETY will label her. Society expects men to be pigs. It doesn't expect women to be like men. Remember ladies....we are different, or aren't we???

How about this question: Why is it when people hear of a woman raping a man they laugh it off or don't even care?

It's known as the double standard, and it should have gone by way of the horse and buggy, but it hasn't. It isn't fair, of course, but women have always had to set the standards of decency, even now when they are recognized by society as having the same privileges and opportunities afforded to men. The reality is that guys are just as vulnerable to promiscuity labels as girls, and maybe some day society will recognize that. However, guys don't always get off scot-free. It takes two to make a baby, for example, and I've known several guys who had to relinquish their plans to attend college because they had to work to support the baby they helped make, or marry the mother with whom they had sex, but aren't really in love with. So they have their own set of consequences to bear.

Regarding the double standard, it goes back to the Middle Ages, when women were always subjugated and men could do as they pleased. Through the years, women had to fight for their rights, to be able to vote, to have decent jobs that paid the same salaries as men, and to be recognized as productive human beings worthy of respect. We've come a long way since then, but there are still some of those old attitudes that prevail, and the hateful double standard is one of them.

Society. You cant change it. Just don't bang too many guys if you want to keep a decent rep. Im a senior in college and you cant change the way people view this touchy subject. Or just be really slick about it and dont even tell your girlfriends...PEOPLE TALK.

I give them a label. A nasty a@@ pervert. I call them herpes and gonorrhea. I think its gross. You don't think about all the harm you put your self in when you have sex with mutliple partners 24/7.

It's called the double standard. It's not fair but that's just the way it has always been. It's better than it use to be but it will never completely change.
Best thing to do is not to talk about your personal life and that way no one will know.

I have asked myself the same question for years. The definition of a "slut" is a woman with the morals of a man. Guess we just keep calling the guys "muts" LOL

Shouldn't matter to you or to anyone else what they are labeled. if you find the person you love and stay with them and marry them then it doesn't matter what other people say
