I cannot remember what book. It is "let he who is without....?" Is it fault, or sin? Then it says something about casting the first stone? Could you tell me what book this is from? I cannot find it...though I was thinking it might be in Proverbs.

John chapter 8

Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

It comes from the Gospel of John. Some men were about to stone a woman who was caught in adultery. Jesus wrote something in the dirt on the street and said, Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

I have often wondered what He wrote. Did He write,"Thou shalt not commit adultery" or did he write the name of some popular lady in town that all the men knew?

They all went slinking away. Jesus then asked the woman where all of her accusers went, then told her to go her way, and sin no more.

It is in the synoptic gospels. It is where Mary Magdalene is about to be stoned by the multitudes for being a woman of sin. Alledgedly, jesus intervenes by saying, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"....

John 8:7. But don't forget that Jesus also told the woman, "Go and sin no more."
