she was on my lap and jumped off, & her nails scratched me. like 5 secs later i look and its swollen alot!

My guess is that infection played a role. Use soap and warm water.

Because of the sharp nails your skin has suffered trauma. Get some neosporin on it. Or Aloe Vera is excellent. Should be better soon.

cat scratch fever. keep it clean, use neosporan if necessary. if not better in about 4 days you may need to get antibotics from the Dr.

Inflammatory response to trauma. If it goes away quickly - no biggee.

If I scratch my OWN skin, this happens to me also.

your cat probably has something in its claws like dirt or aomething and your bodys pushing it out so it wont get infected
