I have a question about a guy I've been dating for almost months:

He was a philosophy major in school, got his bachelor's, & was mostly through his masters when he decided that field wasn't for him. He left school 3 years ago, and has worked some temp jobs, been a manager at Autozone, and is now--according to his his own description--a glorified delivery man.
He tried paralegal school for a year, & decided that wasn't for him either. He just turned 34.
To me, it seems that in 3 years he should have a game plan, but he doesn't. He wants to change careers, but doesn't know what he wants to do.
I am becoming less & less attracted to him because I want more of an "alpha male": Someone who see's what needs to be done, and does it.
However, I have been accused in the past of having standards that are too high.

What do y'all think?

Thank you for your input :)

That's a hard one. I definately know guys who are way more "deadbeatish" than him. You could do way worse. But you have to follow your heart in these matters, If you truly feel he's not for you, not the one you want to father your kids, not the one you want to grow old with, than leave him. If he doesn't have much ambition when it comes to his career then he probably doesn't have much ambition in other areas of your relationship.

Why are you dating a college drop out 34 year old delivery man if you want an alpha male? Either accept that he's a good man and can make you happy or leave him and chase after what you want. Men are not a fixer-upper opportunity. They are human beings that do what they do for a reason. If you can't accept the man you fell in love with then stop wasting his time and allow him to find someone who deserves him.

you need to date someone who makes the big bucks so you can sit on your butt and not work. Ever thought about dating a doctor or a lawyer? It would be awesome cause you would not have to worry about money anymore. My advice is to dump him so you can date a doctor or lawyer because you know as well as I know that money brings all happiness!!!
