I don't think there is a "cure". I have a 10 year old cat with that problem and she develops sores in her mouth that the vet has to treat periodically. She gets her teeth cleaned and those swellings relieved at least twice a year.

Are you giving her anitbiotics for that length of time? Or something else. I'd like to know if you want to contact me. Amber gets a budisonide pill about twice every ten days. That's a steroid that acts only in the intestinal tract as she has a lot of acid reflux and it cuts down on her vomiting.

I've had four cats with this and it is really hard to treat. My vet prescribed Metronidazole or Anti-robe aqua drops(clindamycin) and prednisolone, and also feeding soft foods.i.e. canned food thinned with water, baby food meat, chicken broth, milk if the cat can tolerate it.Fish oil is an anti-inflammatory,so you might give it a try. Also cream cheese, yogurt, whatever it will eat.Sometimes the only thing to do in severe cases is to have all of the cat's teeth pulled.Good luck, and hope your cat feels better.
