only if you are a low class person, with no self respect, who doesn't mind humiliating themselves in front of large numbers of people.

HELL YEAH!!!!! Here are some reasons why it's bad etiquette to go shopping barefooted:
1. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE wants to see OR smell ANYBODY ELSE'S hairy, sweaty, stinking, de-toed, or ashy feet with fungi under the damn toenails, half the damn nail polish chipping off the toes, corns, bunyons, and scabs and sores!
2. If you're a male, you go shopping barefooted, and you have to use the restroom, you're LITERALLY going to step all over other people's piss and track it EVERYWHERE you go inside the store!
3. You might accidentally step on broken glass and you FOR DAMN SURE can't sue the store OR the company that owns the store because your feet are bleeding; that was YOUR stupidity for walking barefooted in the first damn place!
4. In ALL (if not, then MOST) stores, IT'S NOT ALLOWED!
5. There is a CRAPLOAD of germs on the ground, INCLUDING germs from used chewing and bubble gum, pet urine and excrement, saliva, cigarette butts, food that's been lying on the ground for long periods of time, and leaking garbage!
6. You might end up bruising the soles of your feet!

Hun, it is never okay for a guy to go barefoot in public. It doesn't matter if your Brad Pitt, the answer is still nooo! The first thing all girls will think is you are gay or mental. Us females can get away with it if we are good looking and have pretty feet. Most people accept it for some reason when they see a barefoot girl, especially if she is good looking.I think most female will agree.
I've went in my video store and tanning salon barefoot numerous time. No one has ever said anything. A guy on the other hand, will be made fun of or asked to leave every time. I'm not saying it's fair, but thats just the way it is

No, I can honestly say I have always adhered to the signage saying, "No shoes, no shirt, no service." Besides, I'm a tenderfoot and bruise/blister easily.
Foot diseases are so easily spread, I don't particularly like going barefoot where other people are barefoot.
However, I am a big fan of self expression and if you don't mind risking your precious tootsies, then go for it.
I do think it's bad etiquette to be shopping at Walmart. That company is killing this country and they sell cheap because I know they didn't pay their bills to a company I worked for in the past. How's that for creating jobs??? Shop at a place that isn't starving their employees and grinding the competition into the dirt leaving ghost towns in it's wake.
God bless your twinkly toes.

Most places don't like you to enter their stores barefoot in case you step on something. You could get hurt and try to sue them. I don't like to go barefoot at places like that because you never now what is on the floor. Your skin is like a little sponge and will soak up some pretty sick stuff. ie. blood from someone, spit, throw up. etc. You never know what was on the floor you just stepped on.
