You'll need to get a little more organised with your thoughts if you are considering moving abroad to attend college or university of all things.
Also, college and university refer to two very different institutions over there.
In general
Expect higher debts
More partying
More self-directed learning
The last two will sink you if you're not committed. Ask yourself why you are going.

When i was in America a few years ago all I heard was students complaining that all it did was leave them with huge debts and not much hope of a good education.
I have heard it said that an American degree as about the same as a couple of British 'A' Levels.
