A #8 screw is bigger than a #5 screw. The second number (32) is just the number of threads per inch.

Your question is not clear. Do you mean 5/32 and 8/32? 5^32 or 8^32? 5*32 or 8*32?

I am curious! What are you comparing or measuring? To me it sounds like sizes of screw threads! The Eight is bigger than the Five!
