So my boyfriend of five months drinks every now and then with his frat brothers specifically to get drunk. I absolutely, positively hate alcohol consumption to get drunk. I do not get mad at him or tell him not to do it, but he knows how I feel about it. When he calls me drunk, he acts like he doesn't really care about anything I say but refuses to NOT call me at all when he's like that cause he misses me. Am I being too hard on him by telling him how much I dislike it or is he being insensitive by doing it when he knows how much it bothers me? And I guess I wanna know if there's a more sensitive way to talk about this without him getting all defensive and without me sounding like I'm attacking him?

Let me elaborate. He only drinks every couple or so and we don't even live near his old college. He is a wonderful, caring, loving boyfriend [better than any I've ever had] and this is the only big problem I have with him.

I agree with other posters--don't answer your phone.

Also, your man socializing with his friends is natural and is going to continue to happen, if you're trying to change his socializing behavior perhaps you need to find another man. Personally I would break off the relationship with any girl who persisted in trying to modify my behavior in this way.

So what he drunk dials, you obviously haven't been in a lot relationships or a bad one because there is far worse behavior he could be engaging in, and I'm not even talking about cheating.

when I went to school, there turned right into a frat abode that placed a scale outdoors of their activities to make certain the females did not weigh too a lot earlier they enable them in. i have conventional some large frat adult adult males. one in each of my suitable acquaintances changed into one, yet for the most section i wanted no longer something to do with them. shop reading books and be a loose questioning liberal, no longer a follower. somewhat, there are a lot of serious human beings at universities. you do not ought to hitch that scene in case you do not favor to be.

i believe frat boys, or boys who join the frat, are too unsure of themselves and too weak so they need a brotherhood to get them by, guys who join the frats are too over rated, they dont really get positive ideas while they are in it.
you told him you did not like that h e always gets drunk, if he really cares for you , he would atleast try to change a bit, and lessen the drinking, but obviously he does not care with what you feel so he does it all over again
are you not afraid that he will be an alcoholic for life, without a point or sense of direction, if you really dont want his drinking tell it to him, tell him you care for him thats why you want him to stop drinking all the time, you cant possibly have a great romantic relationship if he is always with his friends and you are always disappointed with him
he should mature,i really cant see you being happy with this man, undecided, a drunkard, a weakling who joins a frat,,,,you deserve better.
they say that when you love somebody you change for the better naturally for his case,,,,,i dont think he really cares about what you believe in,,,poor foundation for a relationship

It sounds to me like he is playing games with you. If he is not willing to respect your feelings ,maybe you should look for a new boyfriend!
