I think he tried to tell his buddies at work that his virgin wife was pregnant by god, and they laughed him right out of town.

The last direct mention of Joseph is when 12-year-old Jesus was found in the temple. There is no reference to Joseph’s being present at the wedding feast in Cana, at the start of Jesus’ ministry. (John 2:1-3) In 33 C.E., the impaled Jesus entrusted Mary to the care of the beloved apostle John. That is something Jesus likely would not have done had Joseph still been alive.

The Scriptures are silent about the death of Joseph. But it is noteworthy that Mark 6:3 called Jesus “the son of Mary,” not Joseph. This indicates that Joseph was then dead.

Joseph, then, will be among the dead who will hear the voice of the Son of man and come forth in a resurrection. (John 5:28, 29) Learning of Jehovah’s provision for eternal life, undoubtedly Joseph will gladly avail himself of it and will be an obedient subject of the great heavenly King, Jesus Christ, even as he heeded divine direction over 1,900 years ago.

The Bible doesn't mention Joseph after Jesus was found talking to the priests in the Temple, but I would imagine that he had already died even before Jesus had started his ministry. If I can remember my knowledge of this, Joseph was a fairly old man when he married Mary.

St. Joseph died sometime before his Adopted Son's Ministry.

You see, St. Joseph's role in the Holy Family was to a)give Jesus His Davidic Lineage, & more importantly b)Shield the True Identity Of the Father Of Jesus.

By the time Jesus Was To Begin His Sacred Ministry, St. Joseph's role was finished. But, Mary was still needed, in order to be present at her Son's Crucifixion & Birth of the early Church.

After Jesus began His ministry, somewhere in His 30's there is no more spoken of Joseph and it is believed he died sometime before then.

It was normal for the time for a girl of 13 to marry a man around 30. Thus you had many widows.

it quite is concept that Joseph became real lots older than Mary whilst they have been engaged. He extra desirable than probable gave up the ghost earlier Jesus became 30 years old and commenced His ministry. once you communicate that Mary observed Jesus mutually along with his brothers and sisters, I doubt she would have achieved that if Joseph became nonetheless alive at that component.

He had passed away when Jesus was little (very young 14,15?). After they "lost" Jesus, and found him at the temple; but before his ministry began.
There are few details, other than his passing.
