"Emo" is short for emotional.
Over the years, it has become a style of music and dress. THOUGH, EVERYONE is emotional.
It's just basically a label for others that sterotypes use.
Once people get older, they understand how useless it is to "label" others. You learn to accept people for who they are, not what they look like.
It was NEVER intended to be an adjective to sterotype others. It just describes people who are well, emotional! ;)
It DOESN'T mean "lonely" or "depressed".
You are "emo" because most people are ANGRY or CRANKY when they get up too early in the morning, though when they see the one they love, they get HAPPY or EXCITED. See? Everyone's "emo".-Though, this word is highly overrated.

No, I'm not emo, but its short for emotional. Mostly it's when people don't have too many friends and are mostly loners its a very widely used stereotype. Some emo people are goth and wear black. Some aren't they are just very depressed all the time. That's just my opinion hope it helped! :)

A better question is why suddenly everyone has gone emo!?
What's with suicide and emo msn names and emo myspaces etc. It's so bleek and boring and already done! I think that people who have fun and interesting myspaces are uber cool!
Down with dark depressing emo!

A Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.

pants- in case you are able to pull em off the skinnier the greater advantageous shirt- stunning band tee from warm subject be counted (make certain you hear to em) sweater- something with a funky throughout print (zip up) hair- look on myspace and positioned across a %in on your hair cutter footwear- something with outrageous colours (trucks slip ons are a classic) make certain which you do hear to that form of song. bypass to close by shows and scope out the scene

my sister and brother is way emo. my brother even wears makeup! hes so silly!!
