they won't fall asleep in their beds, they prefer to fall asleep on the couch, the floor, in someones lap, or in mommy and daddy's bed. Is this normal? My ten month old got up at 2 in the morning only to fall asleep in the middle of the floor in the living room 5 minutes later when I was making her a bottle. Anyone else have this? Could there be something wrong with their room that they don't want to sleep in there? They seem to sleep better in every other room but their own.

Some people have strict views on this subject. As for me a mother of 6 i don't care where they fall asleep , as long as they sleep. My husband and i often wake up with all the children in the bed but it doesn't bother us at all. This is called shared sleeping! Kids will fall asleep where ever they are comfortable,

Children do this once they get to walk. They will explore the house and want to go different places, including different beds. They'll eventually grow out of it unless they find one spot (like me, I've been known to not sleep in my own bed and instead sleep on the floor or the couch) that they love so much and moreso than their own bed. If you really want your children to sleep in their own beds then make sure they do so before too long. Tell them they need to go to their bed to sleep when they feel tired and go into their room when you don't see them around. Also, if you can, bring them to their beds when they fall asleep instead of leaving them.

My daughter is that way, she falls asleep on the couch then I have to stick her in her bed. I think they get use to taking naps in certian places, because I never put my daughter in her bed when she takes a nap I usually leave her on the couch, even when she was a baby I lay her on the floor or the couch with pillows around her, and she is almost three now.

Yes: as long as they get a good night sleep. Also you can try to if you are able to pick them up and then put them into there bed after you do that they will get the hint. Mine did after three or four times.

I knew someone whose children did this and they always seemed tired in the morning. I think kids need structure. You should tell them to go to bed and keep putting them back in there if they come out. Having them sleep in your bed just makes it harder to have special time with your husband, which is important to a happy marriage.

it perfectly normal. my kids have fallen asleep at the dinner table, in my bed, in the laudry room, livingroom floor, every piece of furniture in the house, and on the floor in most of our house. my oldest has been rumored to have sleep walked to her friend's backyard and slept on the trampoline. just make sure you lock the doors. it might be a comfort thing. lots of mags say let the child pick an object to make their room theirs. the twins needed a shirt with mom or dad's scent. **** luck. i someones advice helps you.

find them something fun to put in their room, some fun sheets, music players, just whatever they like and make it a special point to make sure they notice those things at bedtime.."lets go sleep on your spongebob sheets, that will be fun wont it"...just whatever works for them...and yes its normal, onced a kid gets into a routine like that it can be hard to break them...so again I stress find something to make it fun..then they will get in the routine of sleeping in thier own bed.

They probably just want to be where the action is. I think it is rather cute and pretty normal. They'll get the hang of it if you just keep bringing them back to bed.
