Move it from a can to an airtight container and keep in fridge. Something like tomato paste can stay probably two weeks. Anything else, just a few days. By the way, you can freeze leftover tomato paste.

Almost all foods need to be refrigerated after opening. You need to store them in something besides the can. 2 or 3 days would be the max I think.

i would say 2 days..... a good alternative would be to get some glass jars with lids or tupperware and store your food that way. i would say a glass jar should extend the freshness for atleast a week if not longer, because it will be airtight. most plastic is not air tight....glass jars can be trickier to find, so save them up from products you buy - like some soups, salsas, jams, pickles ..... and make sure you wash it a few times in VERY HOT water to get any strong smells from other products out

Do not keep anything in an opened can. Immediately place food not eaten under vacuum pack and refrigerate and eat next day.

I agree with the others...NEVER EVER leave it in the can. Chef son has gotten on me about putting cans, opened or not, in the fridge. I don't do it anymore since I got scolded.
Open your canned item of choice and use what you need & put the rest in another container to refrigerate.

If you open a can of food, and you have some left over... You must put into a tupperware container. You can't leave food sitting in a can. You well get food poisening.

If you want to keep leftovers from canned food, you're better off putting it in a glass or plastic container. It will keep that way as long as any normal stuff.
