The ability to play MPEGs is an option. When you purchase a DVD player, it must state that this player has that option. Just like DVD players that can play (Window's Media) WMV or MP3 audio. Some can some, can't that's why it's important to be very selective, when purchasing any type of electronic equipment.
Hope that helped.

It depends on the brand that you buy. When you go to the electronics department of a circut city or best buy check with the sales people. You will be paying more than you would if you bought a cheapy from walmart or another discount chain. Good luck with your search..

The newer DvD players have stickers on them to tell you what formats they are compatible with... many of them will play mp3, mpeg, mpg and other formats.

It all depends if the DVD player is compatible, it should say on the DVD player. If it had Mp3 on the player, then yes you can. if not you could always convert your file to play. - The player you showed is Mp3 compatible.
Top-loading player plays DVD, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and JPEG
