Well, good thing we don't technically speak the Queen's English here. Americans speak American syntax English. Have you ever noticed that a word used in England and a word used in the US has two different meaning?

Believe it or not, being from England doesn't guarantee that you're speaking the Queen's proper English. There are different dialects of English there as well.

Do I think I always speak properly? No, but I speak and write a hell of a lot better then you. There have been offshoots of American syntax English: Ebonics and Spanglish. I would like to argue that Hicklish should be added to the list.

Go ahead and speak the way you want. Just spare those of us who try our best your tyrant about individuality of language. Especially, when you are turned down for a great job after speaking because the human resource manager assumed you are dense or of low in moral character.

So there....

Hmm. Considering that many American citizens are immigrants, it's no surprise that not many people speak properly. But that's what's so colorful about the English language. And I doubt that even all people from England speak proper English.

Yeah, ok. Just by reading your additional details, I feel you have no room to gripe about the english speaking abilities of other people. You used the term "ya'll" three times, are obviously a bit clueless regarding the concept of puncuation, and your sentence structure is disgusting. You also used the word "aint". Oh, and "aint no better" should be "isn't any better", and "we all got our own ways" should be "we all HAVE our own ways". So there...moron.

When people speak their English is not proper because that's the way colloquial language is, with grammar and pronunciation mistakes. In informal situatioins, like chatting with friends and family the important thing is they understand what you're saying. Most people can speak more proper English when they're asked toor in situations that require that, like interviews.
