Love is a condition or phenomenon of emotional primacy, or absolute value. Love generally includes an emotion of intense attraction to either another person, a place, or thing; and may also include the aspect of caring for or finding identification with those objects, including self-love. Love can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience usually felt by a person for another person. Love is commonly considered impossible to define.
The concept of love, however, is subject to debate. Some deny the existence of love. Others call it a recently invented abstraction, sometimes dating the "invention" to courtly Europe during or after the middle ages (though this is contradicted by the sizable body of ancient love poetry). Others maintain that love really exists, is not an abstraction, but is indefinable; being a quantity which is spiritual, metaphysical, or philosophical in nature. Some psychologists maintain that love is the action of lending one's "boundary" or "self esteem" to another. And others attempt to define love and apply the definition to everyday life.

Love is something which is shown to you when you are a baby, and growing up. Then, as you get older, and meet other peoples idea of their love. i.e. diffent upbringing parents etc. etc. there are conflicts. Love then becomes bieng with the wrong person. Because most adults get hurt by being IN IT. I love the feeling of being in love, but it is awful, it is just a buzz. it is not the nurture and the love of the mother, father to the child. it is sex, wierdness, happiness, highs lows, depression and disappointment. Some people manage to sustain "it" forever, my parents have been together 65 years, and love eachother. but there are comprimises to be made, and sacrafices. I am too selfish for that, I can love, but prfer to be on my own. iT IS HARD WORK LOVING ANOTHER PERSONS CHILD I.e. the guy, or girl brought up by another family. different values. Better to be on yer own. Meet loads of people, and have as much safe sex as poss.

Oh what a beautiful question. First I will tell you what love is not because this is a common misconception. What we call love-someone who needs me, someone who cares about me-isn't love, it is selfishness. The only person who will ever need and care for you enough to satisy you is YOU! You don't need someone who needs you because that means they are not stable by themselves and that is the main ingredient for a rocky relationship. Love is based on respect. When you respect someone you do not try to make their decisions for them. If the person you love comes to you and tells you a problem, if you truly love them you will not feel sorry for them because that means that you do not respect them. You do not respect them because this means that you believe they do not have what it takes to solve the problem. Love is respecting someone, being independent of the one you love, being supportive, never putting that person down, not expecting the person you love to make you happy, only you can make you happy! The person who is right for you is the person who you have no desire to change. If you try to change someone, you are not respecting them, therefore you are not loving them. Find someone who you don't want to change, who has everything you're looking for. Last and final words...don't try to find love in others, you don't need another person to have love. Capture the love inside yourself and you will not only be a better lover but you will never be lonely.

Love is a feeling that sweeps over you and feels like there is no one else in the room except for you and that other person. When you are in love, they say you can see it in your eyes.

Love is something that really can't be taught, or shown. I don't think anyone has any right to define "love". It hurts.....and it makes you happy. Emotion that can break you or make you. What makes me happy can make you sad. What makes me sad can make you happy. So in other words....no one can define "love" because it's a emotion that is expressed differently....by different people. Because we are not all the same.

“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.”
