Larry that is a good question. It bothers me when someone else chooses for me what I should like and what I should hate. This is a free country or at least it was supposed to be. I believe we all should read everything and then let US decide for our selves. If we think that a child should not be allowed to make that decision then the parents should read the books and decide whether or not to allow their children to read. them. I have not read everything on this list but some of those books I do count among my favorites.

I'll guess how a fundamentalist views these:
1. Harry Potter - doesn't support GOD
2. To Kill a Mockingbird - doesn't support slavery
3. The Color Purple - humanizes certain people
4. The Outsiders -
5. Lord of the Flies - all children are bundles of love not hate
6. Of Mice and Men - humanizes the mentally deficient
7. Goosebumps - Is against God
8. How to Eat Fried Worms -
9. Catcher in the Rye - Vulgarity
10. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Vulgarity, sexual mores
11. The Giver
12. Brave New World
13. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Vulgarity, humanization
14. Captain Underpants
15. Anarchists Cookbook - Deviant Themes
16. Carrie - Deviant Themes; anti-God;
17. Flowers for Algernon - humanizes the deficient; aren't those people punished by the Lord???
18. The Dead Zone - Psychics are against God
19. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings - black author
20. Go Ask Alice
21. American Psycho - Deviant themes
22. The Chocolate War
23. James and the Giant Peach - Great adventures are against God; miracles not attributed to the Lord
24. The Pigman
25. A Wrinkle in Time - Doesn't support the biblical view of the Universe.

Nothing is wrong with these books. Infact usually when you see a book on a ban list it usually means that it probably had some very valid points. People are afraid of what they don't get and many of he books on this list deal with issues considered taboo...of course then there's captain undrepants...I'm not really sure why that book is on a ban list.

Its ridiculous. I read most of those when I was in school. I am told, it was because of my focused reading habits that my grammar and spelling are so strong. I am so tired of political correctness. If someone doesn't like a book, don't buy it. And, this is America... doesn't banning books interfere with our constitutional free speech? Free press? How can burining a flag be ok, but words in print be wrong?

None of those books are banned. Just because some school library or local library doesn't choose to stock a book doesn't make it banned. If they were banned you wouldn't be able to get them at legally.

I'm a conservative Christian and regardless, I do not agree with any type of book banning.
Most books are banned because of ignorance or so called Political Correctness.
Book banners are no better then Hitlers Nazi's

I read to kids at an elementary school and one kid wanted me to read Captain Underpants...he loved the idea of an adult saying poop and underpants...people that ban books want to control our minds and should be ignored as much as possible.

How can books be banned now? It is a free country with freedom of speech.

Some books like Harry Potter cannot be read by Christians (it talks about witchcraft & magical powers.) I think Captain Underpants might be a little inappropriate for little children and give them bad ideas. Many are just controversial... but then again, it's the controversial books that are most interesting.

Hi Larry,
There is nothing wrong
with the books.
Whomever those people
are is what is wrong.
How sad they are now
telling one what not to
read. Hey, perhaps it's
a marketing scheme,
i.e. don't think of a pink
elephant?
I with it were so.
