Always. I find myself unable to pass by a beggar without giving him/her whatever is in my pockets. I also help friends and family whenever they need my help.

It's what Muhammad did in his life, and it certainly is a Muslim thing to do.

Of course, many times. And instantly regretted it the moment some of them responded with nonsensical comments along the lines of:

"God bless you."
"Assalomalaykum" <==== Muslim bs meaning "Peace be with you."

etc. etc. etc.

I performed these acts of kindness out of a sense of community, compassion and out of common human decency, not to receive some sort of reward from the ******* almighty.
One should not do such things out of fear- they should do them out of just that, common courtesy and decency.

I've always gotten the impression that these weren't nice, kind, decent and respectful people at all when I've observed them committing acts of kindness themselves. I've ended up with the impression that these people were simply scared to death of being condemned to hell or something if they didn't or seeking the approval of the drones who shared their religion.
I've always come to the conclusion that the vast majority of these people would likely not bother and kill you as soon as look at you if not for their ridiculous religion.
As to whether or not religion is a good thing in that respect I'm not altogether certain and will have to give it more contemplative thought before I decide one way or another.

Of course. What has one got to do with the other?? Who goes around all day asking what everyone's religion is.......... oh, I get it.
Here's a thought: How much time is wasted on sinning by not helping your fellow man because he isn't of the right religion?

I believe that to truly be a good person one must do these things for the sake of compassion alone. If one dose good things because they believe they will get some kind of reward then they are being fake. I believe everyone deserves respect and sometimes that is the best thing one can do to help another person.

To my understanding a good person is one who is thoughtful and conciderate of others, no matter who they are. If some one is mean then it is best to teach them by example.

I'd find it odd to ask a person their religion while admist helping them. As if them being a different religion than I would make them need the help less? Sure it happens, but never by me.
