The FDA website contains loads of information for teaching nutrition to children. It's broken down by age and grade, comes with lots of stuff for them to do and color, posters, and even lesson plans and meal planners. Dole site also has good stuff for kids, and a place called 5 A Day- do a web search on that and you'll find it.

Have a chart showing what they need; such as, the food pyramid. Make it fun tho - like a game. Have a piece of tag board with things they need on it and then let them check it off. Thats what I do with my 6 year old daughter and it seems to work. After so many check marks we go to the Dollar Store and she gets to pick out 5 things. Bribery always works wonders! :)

Draw pictures of the food pyramid and have them color it in or cut out a variety of magazine pictures of assorted foods including junk food items...have them fill in a smiley face or a sad face next each one.
