i'm an athiest and i didnt know iw as hated by religious people!
Seriously, dont spread rumours lol.
My friends are a variety. My parents are Buddhists [more of a philosophy i think], some friends who are Catholic, some i'm not sure of, and 2 very close friends who are muslims. I was bought up as a catholic, then maybe i got "sidetracked", and have been open to experience anything. I even once went to a Mormon church with a friend of mine and was welcomed with open arms [was given a mormon bible and they tried to get me to attend weekly!].
Basically, what do i think of religious people.....they are just people with different views of life.
what do i think of the poster of this question - an idiot.
Religious people dont hate me and i know it.
What i do dislike about religious people however is preaching. Thankfully i've not come across many in life.
p.s. i view people from my own experiences and what i see. I dont care about generalisations as no 2 are the same!

i am an athiest, i don't hate religious people, but i do think that religion has a lot to answer for, most of the wars are in the name of one god or another, and , for some reason religious people don't think that anyone else is entitled to an opinion, i don't go to another persons house and try to force my non beliefs on them, but why do religious people feel the need to convert everyone against their will, cult suicides are all in the name of god, i don't care if someone wants to worship the gas fire in my front room as long as they respect my space not to do so

The greatest source of hatred comes from ignorance regardless whether you are a christian or not.
From my perspective on life non-christians are the biggest source of hot air in society and blight it with their unjustifiable hatred and intimidation of those who try to practice their faith quietly in their own lives.
Who supplies class A drugs in your street? Who are the known thieves in your street? Who are the benefit cheats in your street?
Are they christian or non-christian? If you want to be an atheist that's OK, and most people couldn't care what you believe in, so what is the real point of your question - attention seeking??

*Do* people hate me because I am atheist? I guess I'm always the last to know.
I don't know why they would hate me as my beliefs are in no way a threat -- hey, all the more space in heaven for them! But if they do, I guess I feel sorry for them. Hatred is a real waste of energy.

You are certainly one sad little man.
I don't think its the religious people that has the problem with hating you, its you hating them.
I love you man, Jesus loves you and so does God the Father, and also the Holy Spirit. Lot a love for one sad little man

If "religeous" people hate you they are not really religeous, definately not followers of Christ.
Jesus says:
Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do goods to them that hate you, andpray for them which despitefully use you and ppersecute you. Matth. 5:44.
"Christians" who hate should confess, regret and ask for forgiveness.

I really don't care much what they think. I do care when they start messing with my life though... by passing laws and what-not. In general, I feel hateful religious nuts are foolish and silly. Unfortunately, they can also be dangerous.
I don't find it difficult to write hateful people out of my life. I'm lucky enough not to have any in my family.

Um. Sorry, not an atheist, so I jave not been invited to answer, Just to say Christians do not hate Atheists. Our message is love all, forgive all, show mercy, judge no-one. Hate for anybody doesn't come into it, even if they hate us.

I think it's interesting if someone is hostile to me because I don't share their beliefs - I think it reveals that they are not secure and confident in their beliefs, but instead are troubled and full of doubts. The most hostile ones must be the most insecure, and the most equitable must be the ones who are comfortable with their beliefs, so that my lack of belief doesn't make them feel threatened.
