I'm in therapy for $5 per session. I found my counselor through New Life Ministries. Call 1-800-NEW-LIFE and they should be able to refer you to a counselor in your area. Or visit http://www.newlife.com/.
God bless. I'm praying for you!

There are mental health clinics that make you pay based on your income. If you have no money, you pay nothing. Try calling your local hospital or asking your primary doctor where to go. If that fails social services in your county can point you in the right direction. If things get REAL bad, you can always go to the ER for an evaluation and apply for charity care (hospital financial assistance for those in need) to pay for that visit. If you do go to the hosp., bonus is once you are approved for charity care, you are covered at that hospital usually for a year. Good luck to you, wish you the best.

I don't know where you live but here in my area (in Florida) there are two or three free clinics that will see a person almost any time and one hospital open 24/7 that is mostly government funded and accepts anyone. I imagine any city will have something like this and recommend contacting a free clinic or addiction clinic for info. If you really need help.

Instead of being down on yourself, first change the way you talk and think. Stop saying you have problems. Start focusing on the good things. Even really small things. "Wow, I missed the bus but now I can finish this book" "My car is broken...well, now I will get more excersise!" Don't watch the news, that just makes you bitter. It may seem extreme, but its better than being miserable all the time. Talk to friends for the other stuff.

Look in the phone book or use Yahoo telephone search to find your local mental health center. These are usually run by the State or county.
In my state, and probably most, the cost is on a sliding fee scale which means they base the charge on the income and the bills.

There are usually places that base your payment on your income and it can be free. Try asking for information at your local health department or community action agency. Also, you can see a medical doctor usually for some help; that is where I go and I am on medication for depression, and I probably need therapy, but the antidepressants work wonders.

I urge you to apply for medicaid and medicare, then the next step would be for you to seek counseling from a mental professional. I do hope my answer helps you. Good Luck.

You could call up a therapist and see if they can set a reasonable price or offer free services. Some therapists usually do that.
