The Bible is quite clear that it is by grace that we are saved, through faith, not by works so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) You go to heaven because you trust in Christ, not because you are (and continue to be) a good person. And since our salvation isn't conditional based on us staying good, committing suicide would not prevent a person from getting into heaven if he was truly saved.
That's what the Bible says. The official Catholic stance is that you lose your salvation if you commit suicide, but they cannot support their position Biblically.

The Bible says that the ONLY unforgiveable sin is to blaspheme against the holy spirit. By definition, this means that if holy spirit reveals to you the truth about a certain spiritual thing and you intentionally lie to someone about that thing thereby actually committing attempted spiritual murder, God will not forgive you. Also, the Bible says if you commit the same sin over and over again, at some point (only God knows what it is), God will no longer forgive you. As suicide can be put into neither one of these catagories, I do not believe that it would be unforgiveable. Also, I might point out that hell as eternal damnation and suffering is not a Biblical teaching and goes against the principles God has given us there.

Based on the Bible, the only Judge of who goes to heaven or hell is God alone. So no one else can make the final judgement that a person goes to hell no matter what they may do, even suicide.
Besides, most people who commit suicide are not psychologically stable and therefore not fully responsible.

I have read questions about this before, and can find no where in the Bible where it says what happens to the soul of some one after committing suicide. However, I have found one chapter that deals with someone talking with Jesus after he had made a pact with Satan to go to hell after committing suicide, and Jesus talked to him changed his heart, he was saved, did not commit suicide and Jesus said that his pact with hell was nullified. Thia is the only thing that ever mentions anything about your soul after suicide. I believe, however, if you are a Christian,(I am a Christian) that you will go to heaven, I can't see God keeping someone out of Heaven that was so troubled that they felt there was no other recourse than to take their own life.

You shouldn't go to hell if you commit suicide. Some people commit suicide because they lose hope in JESUS and then they die and people always say they'll go to hell. That's the stupidist thing I've ever heard, people who commit suicide obviously have a reason of pain to do it, and when they sought help they didn't recieve it. My question is, why would you go to hell for such a thing? Why do you lose your salvation? Because you couldn't stand the life you were in?

This international is getting worse and worse, yet your existence is advantageous it quite is a latest from GOD, you are the only guy or woman such as you, there in no way became or in no way would be somebody such as you,EVER! you're unique. only think of of ways existence could be for the those that love you, without you here. i've got faith that in case you kill your self you will bypass to Hell. existence is packed with trials and tribulations, yet there additionally are super cases too and that i'm particular you have experienced those. GOD has a plan for you, possibly he needs you to help those much less fortunate than your self , that way you get your strategies off of the type you sense and you sense stable via assisting somebody else. existence would be very confusing, yet Hell would be a million cases worse and it would be continuously, on earth it is not that long.

The issue isn't sin, it's forgiveness. Or rather, the lack thereof.
We've all sinned. I believe that Jesus tried to make it clear that sin is a matter of the heart, not law. (New Testament stuff.) I don't think sin is a matter of a scorecard God keeps that if we die in the 'minus' column we automatically go to hell. If you read the Book, Jesus went to great lengths to save us from damnation, not trap us in it.
People who commit suicide usually want the pain in their life to stop. I think God is enough of a judge of what's in our hearts to see past that. I don't believe that you automatically loose the salvation Jesus gave so much to bring you by making a mistake from a painful heart.
It may bring some people a sense of satisfaction to believe that those who commit suicide will go to hell, but not me.

Based on having lost someone who was such a great human being, I think it's a silly and cruel belief. Yes, sure, punish those that would be hurting that badly...
And I'm pretty sure he was a non believer like myself, so then I guess he'd be doubly in trouble huh? NOT.

I'm not a christian, but well even if you go to hell or not, suicide is a very stupid way to end our life. Some people do it because of problems, that's not a good reason to do such thing.
