Seniors after age 65.
Teens: every 6 months (they are the worst drivers on the road besides the over 70 crowd).
16; 16.5; 17; 17.5; 18; 20 years of age; then as often as dictated by law or custom in your particular area.

Yes. The reason is to make sure if the person is well enough to see, hear, and are able to be alert at all times. For the past several years, there have been so many accidents where seniors are not aware of their surroundings. Some seniors will press the gas pedal instead of the brakes.Even, every year should have a test done after 60.

Absolutely! It should be a yearly requirement, and to help them out, it could be free of charge by the DMV. I've seen so many scary elderly drivers out there on the roads. And teenagers.... yikes! I think cops should worry less about us speedmongers and pay more attention to the elderly and teenagers. They cause more road rage induced incidents than speeding causes accidents.
Age 50 is still pretty young though... maybe make it one test at 60, one at 65, and then every year after that. Some people do get old pretty gracefully, but there are others out there that are in denial about getting old and refuse to believe that their sight and hearing aren't what they used to be.

I think everyone should take a driving test whenever they renew their liscence, because almost everybody out there is a terrible driver. Unfortuantely, this would lead to more people losing their liscences, which would result in more people driving illegally. Of course, in my experience, the best drivers I know drove for an extremely long time without a liscence, and drove alot better as non-liscenced drivers-probably because you pay a lot more attention to the road and the law when you have so much more to worry about than a ticket.

For one thing...50 is not considered senior. And trust me...most folks between 50 and 70 drive better than those under that age. we've made our mistakes and drive defensively not offensively.
Shouldn't kids under 25 have to take an annual driving test to see what they have learned?
I'm 46 and know more of what is going on around me then the young driver getting ready to pass me....consider that.

Well I am 56 now and i would say yes but not untill 60.
Your reaction time slows down but we do drive slower and safer.
I wear reading glasses now but can see very well at night and far away. Something 2 feet in frount of my face or trying to read I need them.
My licence will expire in 2007 and I plan on taking the test again weather I need to or not, just to keep up on my driving. I do not want to cause a accadent by my driving .

I am 64. I have had one wreck in around 39 years and my car was properly stopped when it was hit by someone who did not stop when traffic on I-35 (low) in Austin did. That was 6 or 8 years ago, and I have driven around 150,000 miles since then.
I have never had a speeding ticket. How about yourself, hotshot?
My 2002 Sienna has 114, 000 miles on it. Except for last summer, when my 30 year old son drove it from Amarillo to Virginia for med school while I drove the rental truck towing his car behind on a dolly, because he felt more confidence with me driving the truck, everyone of those 114,000 miles was mine.
Two weeks ago, I drove 1500 miles from Virginia to McAllen in two days.
Week after next, I will be driving to Puebla, Mexico.
What you are doing is stereotyping people based on their age. Yet, the most dangerous age is among the young. Most older people with a problem don't drive that much except to church and the grocery store; younger people with a problem think their name is Ernhardt.
Would you like driving lessons?

no , too young. People should be re-tested according to their driving record and mandatory testing after about 65.
