Suddenly a man with a gun walks in the door and says "If you are willing to die for Christ stay if your not willing to then you may go home." This isnt like a prank the guy is legit going to shoot you if you stay. Also parents would you let your children stay in a scenario like this. Parents please let me know that your answering the second part of my question by putting a * next to your answer.

Staying in the gun sights of a madman is not dying for Christ no matter what he says. It's just stupid, like this question. Why not just ask, "How stupid would you be to prove your faith?".

He can say whatever he wants, he's only a madman with a gun, and no one is under any obligation to let him make the rules that determine their faith. I would subdue him and hold him for the police using whatever force necessary, and take my chances with God's disapproval.

Beating the crap out of a madman isn't an unforgivable sin. I'm a Christian, not an idiot.

Is that honest enough for ya?

This is the overcrowded church joke. Its really good. It goes like this:
the two thousand member Baptist church was filled to overflowing capactiy one sunday morning. The preacher was ready to start the sermon when two men, dressed in long black coats and black hats entered thru the rear of the church. One of the two men walked to the middle of the church while the other stayed at the back of the church. They both then reached under their coats and withdrew automatic weapons. The one in the middle announced, "Everyone willing to take a bullet for Jesus stay in your seat!" Naturally, the pews emptied, followed by the choir. The deacons ran out the door, followed by the choir director and the assistant pastor. After a few moments, there were about twenty people left sitting in the church. The preacher was holding steady in the pulpit. The men put their weapons away and said gently to the pastor, "all right, pastor, the hyporcites are gone now. You may begin the service."

I've heard about this story...then suddenly some people scream and run out because they don't wanna die. The gunman tells the minister that he got rid of the fakers, and the ones who were left behind in the church were the true believers...seeing as I'm too young to be a parent, I wouldn't run out of church!! After hearing about this of course!!

Ah that is the Columbine deal all over again. You dont get out much do you? This isnt a pretend scenario - it happened, well not the church part, but the rest did.

The reality is no one has to stay even if they willing to die for Christ. My daughter saw the same problem in your question. She has discernment.

If someone stuck a gun in your face and said, "Deny Jesus Christ your Lord or die.", then it would be different. Jesus said that if someone denies Him before others, He would deny person before His Father & His Angels. I wouldn't deny Jesus Christ my Lord because He is my everlasting life.

I'd leave, go to the car and crank up the cell phone and call 911. Then I'd get the guns out of the trunk and kill an infidel for Christ.
Thank you for the two points.

I would stay, my wife would stay,*I would let my children choose, and since we have talked about this scenario I can say they would stay.

Anyone who would leave had better check their relationship. Jesus said "if you deny me before man I will deny you before My Father. This is exactly the type of thing He was talking about.

When you first think about it, your first instinct is your own safety. but Christ willingly died on the cross for us, knowing he would die a brutal death even before it happened. So I would. I'd rather die knowing it was for Christ. Also, Christ said that whoever denies Him in front of their friends, He will deny them when they try to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I would die for Christ.

This may be a test for strong faith but not any faith. Peter denied Christ and the rest of the disciples fled yet they had faith.

I would hope to stay and no one really knows what they would do until that time but, this exact same thing was done in the Columbine shooting spree where that young girl said Yes I believe in God knowing that he would shoot her and he did.
