Ok.. My g/f and I have our 1 year aniversery coming up in October.. and I really want to get her something special. I was thinking about getting her a promis ring but I am not sure. I want to get her something that will let her know how much she means to me and how much I love her.. What do you all think??

See, I'm not a promise ring girl. You're promising that you will get her an engagement ring...sometime. You could get a promise to get a promise to get engaged ring too.
Nasty circle there..
Make something for her, or get her jewelery... in her favorite color, or the color of her eyes, or something like that.
The best gift of all (in my opinion) is the gift that I can tell someone really thought about it. Even if it isn't "worth" much at all.
Poems or letters with the gift are GREAT as well.

A ring is nice, also maybe giving up something that is a strain between you, if anything. Something that you know will make her happy if you gave it up. We love that kind of thing, it shows true sacrifice.
She is lucky to have you, that you think so much of her. Good luck to you both.
