Not to sound mean but if you have to ask then you may not need to know. If someone in the air force is offering you a position in "Intelligence" then be very cautious. They may not be who you think they are. They may be pumping you for information.
I have a relative whom was in a war almost 50 years ago. He was in "Intelligence" and he still can't talk about it or what he did. For national security reasons even today. Also with all the security checks done then and now you and your family and friends records have to be squeaky clean at the very least.

About 30 years ago we listen to other countries' military communications. The Job is very much like a 9 to 5 one, but it goes on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 a year. All of the support staff if also involved. It doesn't look or feel like James Bond or a Jeniffer Garner Alias. Most classified items are based more on whom it will embarrass than technical capabilities.
One also learns to analyze data & speculate on the various meaning of an insidence. It isn't an exact science.
My intire time was spent in a stratigic environment. In a tactical environment I hear one does more busy work.

Intelligence refers to obtaining information about possible ememies. Usually intelluigence is about a threat, i.e does Korea have nukes? It also looks at the assets and deploymnet of military forces of a potential enemy.
The other side of intelligence is the capability - how effective would a battle plan be. What are the capabilies of our friends.
There are two types of Intelligence: the civilian is the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Military Intelligence that has a more tactical view.

Intelligence in the air force can cover many areas. There are the satellite operators, there are the electronic spy planes that listen to enemy signals. There are photo reconnaissance planes and film developers and interpreters, And then there are the people who test and evaluate enemy aircraft and weapons. Then there are the psychological warfare guys who try to figure out ways to convince the locals to help us and the bad guys to surrender. They do this with broad cast and leaflets. All of the above are in the air force intell community. If you want deeper details you'll have to ask an air force recruiter or look it up in many military guides that are out there.

there many different jobs in this field. You could be a language iterperter for one thing, another you could be evulating information that is gathered for you by other people. that is all i'm going to tell you if you have a need to know you could always join the a/f and get into intelligence if you have the background. although i would advise against joining anything now except maybe the church and if you do that make sure you check it out good before you join it.
