No. There is not one jot or tittle of contemporary evidence. If he was even a tenth of the man that the Bible claimed to be everyone with a pen would have written something..yet we have nothing.

I personally believe Jesus Christ excisted and I believe in God.

Archeologists have found old writings and other proof of the Bible that date back way before Gnostism. Yes, many of the mainstream Christian beliefs have been derived from pagan beliefs because many wanted to bring the pagans to Christianity so many pagen rituals have been fused into the Christian beliefs. Christmas is primarliy derived from pagan beliefs. But if you believe in the Bible and God than just read the Bible. All the answers are there. Neither I or anyone else here on Yahoo can truly tell you what to believe. Go to the library, look up information online, and open your Bible and see for yourself. You may be surprised as to what you will find.

THAT IS NOT THE POINT!!! THAT WAS NEVER THE POINT!!!
This very same question brought murders and pain to the humanity, the church starting its witchhunt and kill everyone who doubt that.

The point is you beliving in him without questioning. And this is not lack of intelligence. It is mental higiene.
Let me explain.
*If you look for the reason to love people (no matter what religion they have or where they are form ) inside of you. You will hate everyone.
*If you try to support yourself when you are weak and you establish your spiritual/virtual center in yourself or humans, you will fall!
*You need someone that never lets you down, that listens to your prayers and that lifts you up when you are down, then you need JESUS.
If 75% would do what Jesus did and not believe with their mouths and not ask if he existed or not, there would be no war , and no third world(always wondered, wtf happened to the second and first world? are we the 1st world? That is so f*cked up!) .

So that is not the point.. . Try to understand. It might save you from a lot of pain I know it helped me and others.

No doubt a man named Jesus did exist but the Jesus that Christianity speaks of is a combination of three different individuals.

Jesus was chosen to represent the work of all three and is a sort on a compilation of the ideas and teachings of the group.

Yes, He really did walk the earth. And He is now sitting at the right hand of His Father in heaven, waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool.

And He will come again. He will set His foot on the Mount of Olives, and every eye shall see Him.

No one knows for sure but it's quite possible that Jesus Christ is nothing more than a fairy tale character.

"Christianity borrowed its central myths and ceremonies from other ancient religions. The ancient world was rife with tales of virgin births, miracle-working saviors, tripartite gods, gods taking human form, gods arising from the dead, heavens and hells, and days of judgment. In addition to the myths, many of the ceremonies of ancient religions also match those of that syncretic latecomer, Christianity. To cite but one example (there are many others), consider Mithraism, a Persian religion predating Christianity by centuries. Mithra, the savior of the Mithraic religion and a god who took human form, was born of a virgin; he belonged to the holy trinity and was a link between heaven and Earth; and he ascended into heaven after his death. His followers believed in heaven and hell, looked forward to a day of judgment, and referred to Mithra as "the Light of the World." They also practiced baptism (for purification purposes) and ritual cannibalism—the eating of bread and the drinking of wine to symbolize the eating and drinking of the god’s body and blood. Given all this, Mithra’s birthday should come as no surprise: December 25th; this event was, of course, celebrated by Mithra’s followers at midnight.

Mithraism is but the most striking example of the appearance of these myths and ceremonies prior to the advent of Christianity. They appear—in more scattered form—in many other pre-Christian religions."

Probably not. He was invented by the gnostics as a personification of their cosmic christ. Saint Paul didn't recognise a historical Jesus and his christ was "within you".
