You're missing the point. We, and hopefully you, do not con don or turn a blind eye to radical governments who outright slaughter their own citizens to expand their ideologies and to satisfy the blood-lust of a few. We learned that in WW2 with the Holocaust and in China prior to our entry in that war. What most Americans fail to comprehend is that our country is VERY democractic as compared to 98% of the worlds other countries. The freedoms that you take for granted are looked upon with envy and jealously by a lot of the world. I think that if you crack open a history book you will find that in most cases we were the people who were not respected and that we were the ones who were attacked. An excuse for democracy, freedom? God! Look around you and use the powers of observation that God gave you. If our country is so forceful and domineering why in the hell are so many people from other countries wanting to come here and live as citizens of this country? Even people who once swore to fight us to the death like Germans, Italians, Japanese, Chinese, Africans, Indians, etc. Put on a uniform like a lot of us did and go and see what the rest of the world is like. Better yet, just travel to other places paying out of your own pocket and observe and learn. I bet you would never ask this question again.

Those that forget or do not know history are doomed to repeat the same mistakes of the past.
Yes, the USA is not perfect. However, we at least put our errors in public so that we can debate the issues. Try that in Iran (or many other non-democratic countries) today and see what happens to you!
