What coast are you on? If you're on the East Coast, you should go to Hilton Head, South Carolina or Savannah, Georgia. They are both beautiful and affordable spots. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is also a good choice. If you're on the West Coast, try taking a tour of the California wine region (Napa Valley), visiting Seattle or Mount Hood. You could go to Vegas, as well. Hope you guys have a great honeymoon!

My husband and I went to Rome, Capri and Sorronto in Italy. IT WAS AMAZING!! I would highly recommend it!
Go somewhere incredible that will keep you lovebirds entertained. Go somewhere that is an adventure and not something you can do any other day.
If you both love history, art, tour-isty stuff that I would suggest places like Italy, France, Germany, US wise-Washington DC, Boston, etc.
If you both just want to lay back and chill, go to a beautiful Island, California (san francisco or San Diego are great), South Padre Island, TX.
If you both are fun go to Disney World or New York City.
If you both love nature go camping and fishing in the mountains some where.
What ever you can afford make the most of it. For more help contact a travel agent, they have lots of great idea's and can usually get you a package that includes everything for a good price. My travel agent had a web site that our wedding guests could go to and give money to help pay for the honeymoon.
I do not suggest going on a cruise. I had a friend that did that and she spent 80% of her time seasick and exhausted.
Also-a side note, no matter where you go or what you do, make sure to let ALL know that you are on your honeymoon! You get all kinds of free stuff and upgrades! My husband and I got up graded to 1st class on the plane, in Rome our hotel moved us from a regular room to a roof top suite (awesome), at restaurants we got free food and drinks, even on our way home because of weather our original flight was canceled, but they let us change to another flight ASAP for no additional cost and I didn't see one other person that was supposed to be on my original flight on my new flight.
Congrads to you and your soon to be hubby!

The leaves will just be turning in Gatlinburg, so it'll probably be very pretty! That's my favorite time to go! I don't know how far away this will be for you, but if I had it to do over again, I'd have wanted to go to Disney World. We went to Saint Lucia for our honeymoon (Eastern Caribbean) and it was nice but I honestly prefer places in the US.

Either of those places would be a fine choice. Gatlinburg is lovely in the fall and cost-effective; Disney World will be toasty warm and there's so much to do there. And many people don't know this, but there are romantic places to eat at Disney.

I'm a wedding photographer and I photograph A LOT of weddings per year. A question I always ask my couple is 'where are you going on your honeymoon?' Usually I do it to break the ice and start a conversation.
Some go on these elaborate honeymoons to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii. I live in Chicago, and the destinations I think are best are the one's in state. I don't know where you live, but look up state parks on your local states web page. Usually you can get a nice lodge to stay in, in a nice area such as a state or national forest, or park. This also gives you options for day to day activities, perhaps going into local towns. For instance Galina, Illinois in Western Illinois is a fanstastic spot for a honeymoon. In your state is their a popular weeked getaway spot? That would be another good place to start looking for your honeymoon.
One of my most recent clients told me they were not making any real plans except to go in their car drive out west, stay in any roadside motel, and have a lot of fun.
You don't have to go to some exotic resourt to have a great honeymoon. The bigest thing is to have an open mind and sense of adventure.

Any of the Sandals Resorts. We went to one in Jamaica and truly loved it.. The best thing about them is that they are all inclusive. You don't have to spend a dime unless you want to take home souvenirs. With 2 resorts on the island we could even go to the other resort & enjoy their activities at no charge. They have something there for everyone. Golf, volleyball, boating, swimming, bus tours through the island you name it they probably have it. Oh yea and if you like to swim they have this great pool that has a swim up bar in it. It is really neat even if you don't drink alcohol. We went 5 years ago so I'm not sure what it costs now but for us we stayed 4 days/3nights & for both of us the total cost was around 1200.00. That included air fare as well. Congratulations & Best Wishes!!

If you can swing it, I'd say go to New Zealand. It would never have even been on my "radar", but my husband came up with the idea. It was fantastic. The seasons are opposite ours and the people there are phenomenally nice and receptive. Everyone speaks english and the countryside is beautiful! Airfare is the biggest expense... local prices there are very affordable... For less than $2,000.00 (not including airfare) you could easily spend close to 2 weeks and have the adventure of your lives! (We did it for less than that..) Sail on tall masted ships and lunch on a private beach, scuba dive, hike, explore the countryside, stay in quaint little bed/breakfasts or lakeside cabins, have an exotic seafood dinner on the Bay in Auckland, nightlife, shop local wineshops, see glowworm caves that are nowhere else in the world, do some of the most fantastic whitewater rafting anywhere, take in a Rugby game, see the local zoo and kiwi birds. etc etc etc. Would LOVE to go back, but have kids now... No one else will EVER say, "been there, done that".... I still have a seashell from our "picnic lunch" on private beach after a morning of sailing and having "tea" onboard. Good luck making a decision...

First off- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

OK, now onto the honeymoon-
As long as you're togethrer somewhere that's what's really important-
If you like the romance of walks on the beach and all that you can try:
Cancuun Mexico- 10 on a 10 scale but stay at the Moon Palace, it's more secluded for that romantic feeling and they have a horse and carriage there to ride around in.
Destin Florida- 8 on a 10 scale, very pretty water and beaches but very touristy and busy. (I think I saw an answer for Hilton Head SC- not impressive at all)

If you like mountain get aways try:
Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire- 10 on 10 scale for it's lake and mountain combination, very secluded and they have some of the best bread & breakfast accomodations you'll find anywhere.
or
Hot Springs Arkansas-10 on a 10 scale for it's secluded areas and many lakes, plenty to doo and it's beautiful there all year round. (home of Bill Clinton too, near Dallas & Memphis)

We got married and stayed at Disney World for 5 days and then took a Disney cruise, it was AMAZING. At Disney World we were showered with attention and on the cruise we visited 3 islands as well as Disney's island and there was new entertainment every night, and by the end of the cruise everyone knew we were the newlyweds. I'm sure all cruises are great, if you want a sneak peak, try going to the websites, or go to youtube and you can watch people's home videos which I think gives you a really good view of what to expect. The food is all inclusive and even though my husband gets motion sick, he took Dramamine and it didn't bother him. I loved it and can't wait to go back!
