I'm scared of eating, scared of not eating, scared of people at work, scared of looking ill, etc.

I cannot relax...and I feel now I should not have eaten b/c I got 10 x more nervous. But at least I'm at home. I can't eat protein; it upsets me and makes me fat. I am at my wits end. I have to be more "perfect" so I don't worry but it is very, very hard.

Please, how can I be a better person so that I don't have to worry? I must be worrying for a reason. If there was no truth to it, I would not worry, right? I don't know. Why does everyone hate me? I can't help it if I can't be like them and pig out. Nobody said anything but I am afraid the other shoe will drop any day b/c I "look" a certain way. Perhaps I should wear blush so that my cheeks look rosy? What can I do?

I'm a teenager and I worry a LOT too. I worry sometimes of being humiliated, looking stupid for messing up in class, worrying that people hate me, if people are being fake to me, ect.

I've learned to just relax and taking everything a little bit at a time. Like thinking, "OK, so maybe I've messed up in the past and I've been really embarrassed by it, but that's in the past and I'm gonna be alright. Nobody is perfect." Then go onto the next thing. "People who talk about me don't know me so why should I let them bring me down if they never met the real me?" And so on.

Overall my advice to you is to build up a self esteem (by hanging out with people who encourage you and help you believe in yourself) and learn to relax. Don't be afriad to get professional help either, it's okay if you need help on dealing with your emotions.

If you do not eat, you will look ill. And why are you afraid to look ill? Are you ill? If you are ill, I bet it's because of your high stress level and malnutrition. Being thin does not equate to being healthy, it just sometimes correlates. Being too thin, in fact, can make you look ill.

It sounds like you worry too much. You have a point; usually when people worry, there is a reason. However, to keep our sanity, which you are beginning to lose, we purposely hope for the best. I sometimes worry about my husband who has to drive 45 minutes to get home from work. It is the truth, driving is not always safe and a horrible wreck is possible everyday that he drives to/from work. However, in order to maintain my sanity, to keep my anxiety level down so I can be productive and not just worry, I purposely decide to overlook the possible danger, and hope for the best outcome.
You can apply this outlook to everything in your life. You weigh out the benefits and the risks of a situation. Once you decide that the benefits outweigh the risks, don't worry about those risks anymore. For example, me and my husband find driving to work 45 minutes each day and risking a wreck does not outweigh the benefits of him being able to provide us with food and shelter for our survival. An example for you would be for you to weigh out the benefits of eating opposed with the risks of getting fat. There are more benefits to eating because first, you have to to survive, look healthy, and feel satisfied. The risks are small in comparison that you could eat more calories than your body burns and cause you to gain weight.

I also wanted to point out that becoming a better person does not free you from worrying. Everyone worries. You worry too much. Though you worry over reasons, you have to decide not to worry! Most people decide to not worry, and that is how they appear more calm than you. That doesn't mean that they are better people; they are just better at picking things to worry about.

I am pleading for you to stop trying to hide that you are so anxious about food, and the physical consequences of not eating enough or too much. You must stop this now; you are driving yourself crazy. Stop!

You are trying to hide the fact that you have a problem. Hiding it will not solve it! I plead for you to take care of yourself and talk to a psychologist. You are hurting your body and your mind.
A psychologist can give you tips on how to feel less stressed and anxious. He/she can help you take care of yourself. Please go to someone that can help you with your anxiety. You will be happier, I promise.

Please get help. It sounds to me like you are dealing with very low self esteem. Remember that NO ONE is perfect the only person who ever lived a perfect life was crucified and has gone to heaven to pay for our imperfections so that some day when we die or He returns and takes us home to be with him in Glory we can be perfect . As long as we are here we will always make mistakes , wrong choices and say the wrong things but we can't be so hard on ourselves we just 1) ask Jesus to come into out heart and to forgive us of our sines and give our lives over to his control. 2)Then when(Not If) we make a mistake ask forgiveness of God and apologize to the one we have hurt and go on. God loves you Yes YOU. I will be praying for you that you will see yourself Thu the eyes of compassion that Jesus sees you with.

There are lots of people ready to help - all you have to do is ask.

The longer you wait, the longer things continue as they are, & you might even convince yourself that this state of self-doubt, fear & confusion is normal.

Does you school have a couselor or nurse on staff?
Could be a good place to start.

Don't wait.
