I know what I believe, but does it have a name?
* Don't kill
* Don't steal
* Respect self
* Respect others
* Help self first, others if you can
* There is a God, as we came from somewhere
* What God wants, and expects is not within us, as humans to understand
* I do not pray or worship, but hope, and wish -- Take credit for good I've made, blame for bad
* Treat others as they treat me
More as I think of them

Those who are trying to help, I thank you...even if it's a hard task to try.
Those with dogma, who have made no effort to try and help-- you are the reason I try my own path.
Ok, some more....
* Challenge the status quo
* Tolerate others as much as possible... snap on those who refuse to try, or back off
* Sex is okay, as long as it's not rape
* Be as picky as you want with your life-mate, but be friends with everyone

Ok, getting frsutrated now, Try to answer from your independent heart, and mind, not what you were brainwashed with.
If you need to quote the Bible as your only source, stop typing and answer someone else.
I don't follow a book, I follow my heart, my free will, and empathy.
If you are trying to prove something to me with something, which I mentioned a man cannot know, as it is beyond man, YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION. Read again, and aswer like you've retained what I typed....Damn, it's not that hard.
Not directed at everyone, but you know who you are!!

You are a Theist. However, unless you put that belief into practice you are no religion at all. The three main Theistic religions are Christianity, Islam, and Judiasm.
You have the inner belief not to steal, kill or harm others because God put that there. This God is a God of peace. He desires peace wtih his creation, so it is good that you seek this. If you believe in God don't you think it would be wise to find out who he is? It would be a pretty big deal if when you died you never knew him?
Here is what I believe and have found it to be true through much study and experience:
"All have sinned and fall short of God's Glory".
Romans 3:23
(The things we do that are wrong according to God, like even lie once, separate us from having a relationship with God.)
"The wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, his Son". Romans 6:23
We all hurt each other and ourselves throughout this life. People lie, cheat, steal, kill, etc. These things (according to the Bible) have separated us from God's holiness and glory.
Because we deserve death by our sin, God sent his Son to pay the penalty IN OUR PLACE for our sins when he came to this earth.
"For God so LOVED the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him will NOT PERISH but have everlasting life" John 3:16."
The forgiveness God offers us (and good that we do because we know we have been forgiven) comes from God alone and by FAITH alone, not by works.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God- not by works so that no on can boast" Ephesians 2:8,9.
If you want to know the one true God, you CAN know him. If you have a Bible read the book of John. It is in the latter half of the book. It is the real life accout of one of Jesus' disciples, John who wrote about Jesus' life here on earth. If you believe in God, or want to find out if what I'm saying is true, read this book. I can send you one as well if you would like. God loves you very much and really wants you to talk to him. He deserves your worship and is glad you hope there is more to this life than just living and dying.

i am not sure ... but you sound lovely
i am spiritualist and all of the above ticks my boxes .. but i know a few more religions that are in keeping with that also
search some more ... you dont have to belong to a particular faith anyway , if you are happy as you are xx
sorry just to clarify .. i do pray ... but i pray to someone as a friend ... not to worship
added note incase it helps
spiritualists believe in spirit communication through mediumship
i guess this is a biggie in helping you decide whether spiritualism is for you
good luck in whatever path you walk xx

Try taking this quiz called "Belief-o-matic"
http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html
It will give you some idea, perhaps. You may best fit in with the open-minded Universalist Unitarians, who embrace people with many religious ideas.

You seem to fit a lot of paths. Now you just have to find some dogma that you are comfortable with.

The Rich Young Ruler
16(A)And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain (B)eternal life?"
17And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
18Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "(D)YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
19(E)HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and (F)YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
20The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"
21Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and (G)sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have (H)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
23And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, (I)it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24"Again I say to you, (J)it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?"
26And looking at them Jesus said to them, "(K)With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
God's Gospel:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
