It means that your homocysteine level is high- when this is high, your risk for heart disease is higher... it is a level that they draw to help prevent heart disease. Folic Acid supplements can help bring it down. Talk to your doctor about it.

An inborn error of methionone metabolism which produces an excess of homocysteine in the blood. It is often caused by a deficiency of cystathionine beta-synthase and is a risk factor for coronary vascular disease.
