Tell him when one door closes another one opens, 61 is not considered old today, he has a lot of good experience that many companies will pay for these experiences. Tell him to keep a stiff upper lip, it'll work out

Let him know that when one door is closed, another one is opened! God always makes a way! What about temp agencies? There are temp places, like Labor Ready that pay daily, have him check with them. God Bless.

Your are his child (even if ur grown). He has to be the one to do whatever. You could say something like---I'm sorry you lost yr job, but something will turn up. Don't press him. He could b despressed.
