I'm in high school right now. Not much to look at, but I'm an overall average and nice guy. I'm considering asking a girl to a dance. She'll probably say no, but I'll never know I don't ask, right? Well I just want to know if there's any bad consequences or downsides to being rejected. Will think of me any differently? I'm kind of new to the whole "relationship" thing so bear with me!

Sorry about the crappy spelling. "She'll probably say no, but I'll never know IF I don't ask, right? "

Will PEOPLE (i.e. her, her friends, other people in my school) think of me any differently?

Yeah, I suck at typing

The worse that will happen? She'll say "no".

But if she never knew who you were before, now she'll know. Most likely she'll be impressed by your guts. It's more impressive than someone else who is too scared to even ask. After that, you'll be even more ballsy about asking another girl out. Maybe the next girl would say "yes" that time because you handled rejection well and it has turned into--dare I say it--confidence. (And let me tell you, confidence shines 1000x more brightly than a pretty face.)

My opinion, there is more good that can happen here than bad. Good luck!

( i've never done any of this ) well she could go tell all her friends then it would get around the schol. if she already knows you like her she might expect you to ask her and if she says no anyway then she won't think of u any differently bc she already knew u liked her. e-mail me if u need more help ok?

sweetheart, please don't refer to yourself as "not much to look at". from my side, i see a guy that wants to ask a girl to a dance. it may be for the first time. just remember that she is probably just as nervous as you are.
just remember, IF she says no...it could just be bad timing. who knows, she may be your future wife, and the timing could just be wrong.
IF she says yes, then the pressure will start and then i anticipate and look forward to a question about if you should bring her flowers, what you should wear, etc.
