Im mormon, and i get the impression that Christians (evangelical) think that im stupid for my belief's... Regardless of what ever proof and understanding i have of all religions.

"You're just stupid, that's why you believe that crap." -is the impression i get from evangelicals.

Never... "Why do you believe that?" Just... "You're stupid, if you were christian you'd be smart."

And don't tell me that "Mormons are Christian." I already realize that.

I don't know, but personally I believe Christians have a lazy religion. They think, "accept Christ and you're saved", there is so much more to salvation that though, but they have convinced themselves that just believing is enough. Well, PROVE you believe by your good works, that's what I say.
"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Plain and simple, why would we be advised to keep the commandments if it didn't matter anyways???

It's that exclusivity thing...Christians are supposed to beleive that their way is the only possible way and that everyone else is wrong. For the Christians commenting about what is and isn't Christian: Mormons fall under the catagory of Christian because they believe in the Christian God and Jesus. Therefore by the most basic definition definition they are Christian.

That said, Mormon beliefs are more than a little strange...particularly when the historical and cultural claims that the Book of Mormon makes are wildly inaccurate. Just like the claims of the Bible. I prefer to attack the Mormon religion on its own faults and merits rather than render a blanket judgement from the get go.

For instance, I would point out that the Book of Mormon claims that there were oxen and horses in early America despite the historical fact that they did not exist in the "New World" until the Europeans bought them over. Or that Smith's "translations" of Egyptian heiroglyphics were outright wrong. Or the claims of advanced metalworking and the existence of chariots in the Americas...neither of which have proven true. Or that he was unable to reproduce his writings when challenged to do so. I'd point to those absurdities and calll the Mormons on that rather than simply saying "I'm right, you're wrong because I'm a Christian and you're not".

I like to think that I'm at least a step above children's playground debate techniques.

Do you think that Mormans are Christian? Well they are not! Well, they don't serve the same Jesus as Christians and their final destination (what they believe to be their final destination to be) is different. - They believe that Jesus was someone from another planet who was given the earth to populate because he was a good mormon there, that he is Satan's brother and If they die as good mormons they will get their own planet to populate when they die, copulating for eternity. These are NOT Christian beliefs.

If Christians tell you that you must be stupid for believing, they need to go back to the bible and read what it says about love. By reading ANSWERS you realise that many think we Christians are 'stupid' so join the club. If I.ve made you feel stupid, Im sorry. It was totally uninted.

We know that everyone else is not stupid. This is obvious.

If I were to label myself and my spiritual beliefs, I would say I am a humanist. That being said, I have experienced similar reactions when I come into contact with an Evangelical Christian. I was raised a Baptist, which may be the reason I don't believe in religion any more.

I find that most people who hold onto their spiritual and religious labels tend to think others are "stupid" for not believing in their specific dogma. The irony is that Jesus Christ was inclusive of everyone in his teachings. Perhaps Evangelical Christians should follow their own advice: WWJD?

I'm Christian but I don't believe that. The so called "Christians" on this site who are calling other people stupid, if they aren't as bible-smart as they are, shouldn't be doing so. I don't exactly know though what Mormonism is....

If you were a Mormon you'd know the difference between Christians and Mormons. The beliefs aren't even close to the same. An evangelists is someone who "witnesses" the Christian faith to non-believers. So the Christians on here saying there is a difference have created a God of their own desire. Violation of a commandment...can you name it? God says in the Bible to SPREAD THE WORD! They are obeying God! You aren't stupid for not knowing anything, just ignorant. If a Christian tries to witness to you and calls you stupid to your face like that, please laugh at them and walk away because they are disgracing the God they claim to respresent and you need not further listen. If a true Christian evangelist tries to talk to you and you want to hear what they have to say...ask questions. If not simply tell them you are happy living in your sin.

Never read a Christian post that called people stupid.
I read almost daily(when I'm here) Christians being called stupid and worse.
Stop bashing and cursing Christians long enough to read how Christians are the only group that is mocked, cursed, and bashed.
Next time a Christian ask for prayer or a bible verse read the question and answers and see if you find any cursing or bashing.

I think a person's level of intelligence has nothing to do with what they choose to believe in. We are all human, and for every bigoted Christian, there are just as many bigoted, Mormons, Jews, Jehovah's Witnesses, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics, etc.

joshcating, do no longer post questions that aspect out you're not any further a Christian and then pose as one on the forums. it truly is deceitful, offensive, and rude. because the fellow posting this question changed into complaining about movements a lot the same (issues that are insulting), i locate it immature of you to be doing the very similar project. As on your question, i don't believe of you could positioned us all in that field. As a Christian, I quite a lot in no way assume someone is a Christian. i'm likely better offensive to the different degree, that i locate anybody to no longer be a Christian (or the different faith) till they tell me they are. do not generalize and stereotype human beings. i in my opinion locate that insulting and annoying.

No one should be calling you stupid....
Mis-guided perhaps. Your claim that Mormons are Christian is not accurate.........

The vast majority of Christian denominations in the United States, does not regard the Mormon church as a Christian church. That is because the official writings of Mormonism deny fundamental teachings of orthodox Christianity. For example, the Nicene Creed confesses the clear biblical truth that Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, is "of one substance with the Father." This central article of the Christian faith is expressly rejected by Mormon teaching -- thus undermining the very heart of the scriptural Gospel itself. In a chapter titled "Jesus Christ, the Son of God: Are Mormons Christian?" the president of Brigham Young University (Rex Lee, What Do Mormons Believe? [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book, 1992] summarizes Mormon teaching by stating that the three persons of the Trinity are "not... one being" (21), but are "separate individuals." In addition, the Father is regarded as having a body "of flesh and bone" (22). Such teaching is contrary to the Holy Scriptures, destructive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and indicative of the fact that Mormon teaching is not Christian.
